presentation of the CROSS / CROSS TWD 2016
When you think of the Ural, you think of fields, sand, snow, and everything else that will leave you feeling, by the time you get home in the evening, as though you’ve just taken a mud bath.
This model raises the bar even higher by offering a rugged, no-frills sidecar ready to take on anything.
Here’s how Ural sums up this sidecar:
"...For this, you don’t need a comfortable seat in the sidecar. But to tackle tough terrain, there’s no need for a proper spot for the classic passenger in the basket—instead, you need powerful geometry for the rider who becomes a full-fledged co-pilot: grab bars, handles for efficient turning, and geometry designed for powerful off-road riding. Anyone traveling around the world needs a waterproof, lockable space in the sidecar. The Ural Cross sidecar offers all of that. And plenty of loops and straps as attachment systems to securely carry and secure bags and suitcases. You can load the Cross like a pack mule!"
That says it all!
Engine protection is a must on the Ural Cross, as is the spare tire. Depending on the version, a shovel, a jerry can, and a first-aid kit are included or available as accessories (1 or 2 WD).
It should be noted that there is a "Cross kit" allowing an Ural sidecar owner to convert their sidecar mount. Simply unscrew the original sidecar and screw the Cross kit onto it. You can then reinstall a more conventional sidecar, as this CROSS model is actually a SPORTSMAN (for the 2WD version) or a TOURIST (for the 1WD version) to which a motocross-style basket has been added.
The 1WD version costs 14,590 euros, and the 2WD version is priced at 15,190 euros.
