presentation of the R7 700 70ème anniversaire 2026
With this 70th anniversary edition , the R7 bears a striking resemblance to the... R7. No pun intended, but a clarification is in order: it looks like theYZF-R7! It's a bike that has been in our thoughts throughout 2025, as Yamaha has paid tribute to it in the season's most important competitions.
The racing motorcycles served as the backdrop for Yamaha's 70th anniversary celebrations; now it's the turn of the production motorcycles. The entire range of R sportbikes is infatuated with the trappings of Superbike. The new R7 swells with pride in its superb white and red paintwork, adorned with the famous Speedblocks on the fairing sides. A commemorative "70th anniversary" badge appears on the tank cowling, along with a gold version of the Yamaha badge.
Proud, but humble. Almost 30 years separate them, and their ordinances have nothing to do with each other. The 750 YZF-R7 OW02 won Endurance and World Superbike races - the 700 R7 is here to help you discover trajectories and set your first lap times.
Only their first names, the way they're spelled, their choice of colors and their eyes for the track identify them with the same sanguinity. They seem so close and yet so different at the same time.

An electronic leap forward
As the R7 enters 2026, it pays homage to its forebear while modifying its attributes. The Yam' has evolved from one end to the other this year: a more stylized look, a redesigned fairing, an engine recalibrated for Euro5+, a reinforced frame, lightened SpinForged wheels, an optimized fork, a less demanding riding position and electronics on a whole new level. The previous generation only had ABS as standard and an optional shifter. The Up&Down shifter is now standard equipment, as are an IMU inertial unit, 5 riding modes, angle-sensitive traction control and ABS, wheeling, gliding and braking controls, engine brake management, cruise control and speed limiter, rear ABS deactivation and a stop-start assistant. In other words, almost all the electronics of a hypersport for a 73-hp bike..
The "Anniversary White" color will cost around 300 euros more. Let's hope the final bill stays under 11,000 euros. Which is already a hefty price for an "introductory" sports bike.
