presentation of the 850 MT-09 Sport Tracker 2014
After giving its MT-09 a Street Rally makeover, Yamaha is back at it again with this Street Tracker... Sorry, Sport Tracker (marketing made it change its name between two episodes).
This time, the styling is clearly influenced by the world of Dirt Track, with a pinch of Scrambler for spirit. A new exercise in personalization, to add a little cream to the bubbly roadster that is the MT-09.
the use of aluminum and carbon components gives the Sport Tracker a unique look tinged with the spirit of competition. The look is well thought-out, and without overturning the machine's identity, it reinforces its Dark Side. The bike features a short carbon front mudguard with aluminum mounting, and a number plate in the same metal. Located at the front, it accentuates the motocross look. The side plates, like the handlebar bar, are cut from aluminum to accentuate the Scrambler look.
The angular tank features knee grips, while the two-tone seat is in brown leather and black Alcantara. These elements, along with the new wide footrests, give the rider the right position and feel for acceleration, braking and cornering. In this respect, the 3-legged 850 cm3 is convincing.

Yamaha also plays with color: the frame is black, as is the engine; the head cover and rims are bronze-coated, while the forks are strikingly gold-coated. Finally, it's a shame that the Akrapovic exhaust is optional. Its raised position is a perfect complement to the Street Scrambler orientation (nothing to do with the Voxan of the same name).

i'm coming off a bycylinder, 990 ktm super duke! ok it's not the same sensations but it's close in certain situations..
after that, it depends on what you're looking for, but it's a lot of fun if you exploit it at the right time....mdr!!!
so yes, a very good machine..... Rating : 5/5 Respond to chris
i've been a biker for over 20 years (experience on all types of motorcycles except custom), and I'm having a great time with this machine. The downsides: fuel injection when riding (not bothersome when in high-speed mode), and a sore butt on long trips (although I've got a comfort seat). All in all, a very good machine.
