presentation of the XSR 700 60eme anniversaire 2016
By taking the enthusiastic, fun-loving MT-07 roadster as its base, Yamaha has taken a safe bet in the neo-retro market. The XSR 700 is undoubtedly one of the offbeat machines that will appeal most to young and not-so-young bikers alike. A playful, easy-going and agile chassis, an engine as happy and playful as a kid, a scarcely disguised philosophy of fun... and on top of all that, an eye-catching exterior. Look no further, it should make a lot of people happy.
conveying the new Faster Sons image, it's a good idea to consider a color scheme that's both vintage and sporty. The black and yellow checkered"Speedblock" is an excellent choice: used to celebrate Yamaha's 60th anniversary, it evokes the spirit of Kenny Roberts and the American rider's fiery spirit on the GP 500 in the late '70s. A lively, nostalgic look that extends to the whole of Yamaha's Heritage range, as well as to the R1 sports bike, cross-country machines and a number of Yard Built preparations.
*recall campaign*****
On July 31, 2018, Yamaha launched a recall campaign for its MT07 as well as its on-road ' Tracer 700 ' and neo-retro ' XSR700 ' variants.
The screws securing the drive chain housing to the swingarm could loosen and fall out due to vibrations while riding the vehicle. In addition, there was a possibility that once the fixing screws had fallen out, the chain case would break when it hit the drive chain. In extreme cases, the broken part of the chain guard could fall onto the road and hinder traffic. To counter this, Yamaha has launched a recall campaign to replace the chain case spacers and fixing screws.
For the French market, a total of 8,871 machines have been recalled.
