Motorcycle specifications Yamaha XV 950 Yard Built - Son of Time - 2016 Violent morning

The Yard Built project, based on the Yamaha XV 950, was unveiled in Amsterdam. Amsterdam-based tuner Numbnut Motorcycles and Dutch watchmaker TW Steel have joined forces for a special project. Uniting the worlds of watchmaking and two-wheelers, they have brought to life "Son of Time": a motorcycle that is both an exceptional timepiece and a one-of-a-kind custom.

numbnut tuner Roderick Seibert spent the winter cooped up in his Amsterdam workshop, stripping an XV 950 bare. His aim was to transform this rebellious custom to pay homage to salt-lake racers the world over.

"I loved preparing this bike," enthuses Roderick."From the moment you strip the bike, you're euphoric at the thought of what's going to come out of it. Working with TW Steel has also really exhilarated me. Our mutual creativity resulted in some superb finishes on the bike. I'm really proud of the result. It's a mix of hip old school and modern, and above all, speed!"

in his quest for top speed, Roderick cut the frame to make it longer, forgoing almost all original Yamaha parts to keep only the engine. To sculpt this machine, he created a number of specific Numbnut parts. Custom engine covers, air intake, seat and fuel tank leave no doubt: this bike is built for speed, and doesn't fail to wink at its conceptual sister, the "Son of Time" watch.

fellow tuner Nozem designed the exhaust system to create a thundering while Dymag was chosen for its magnificent carbon rims to lighten the machine, always in search of speed. No top speed record without brakes to match. the "Son of Time" is equipped with monobloc calipers, 320 mm floating discs and an RCS19 brake master cylinder, all from Brembo. Adjustable PP brake and clutch levers and Bitwell Kungfu grips give the rider full power, while a Motogadget Pro tachometer translates the language of the twin.

power is nothing without control. the "Son of Time" has also adopted improved suspension. Roderick turned to K-Tech for these important components. He opted for a fully adjustable front fork and rear shock, for greater control. A Dynojet Power Commander and a Dynojet Quickshifter optimize the XV 950's power. The Baja-style LED headlight beacons the track.

a delicate gray and red paint job adds the finishing touch, making this collaboration much more than a concept.
