Aprilia has established a new custom of presenting its most sultry models in a special series at the GP of the Americas. Last year, it was the Limited Edition USA. For 2024, the 1100 Tuono Factory and RSV4 1100 Factory will be available in SE-09 SBK livery.

Although revealed in MotoGP territory, this RSV4 has nothing to do with that championship. No, it refers to the first World Superbike victory of its lineage. On July 26, 2009, the famous Max Biaggi slammed the Noale hypersport on the Brno circuit to the top of the podium. After 10 years of twin and RSV, the formidable replacement had just embarked on a career thirsting for conquest and performance.

The SE-09 SBK edition is clad in the same identity as the first 1000 RSV4. Predominantly black... yet only the red covering the extremities is visible. The little Italian flag above the muzzle makes a patriotic statement. As a bonus, the RSV4 SE-09 SBK is fitted with carbon air intakes to cool the brake calipers and a front mudguard made of the same material.

Its progressive number in the series is mentioned on the airbox cover, in front of the fuel tank. Up to how many? That depends on demand. Aprilia SE-09 SBKs will be numbered but not limited. As for the price, it's asking 500 baht more than the 1100 Factory. It will be available from June 2024.

Since 2009 and the first RSV4, a few things have changed: the brake calipers have become Stylema, fins have appeared, the frame has become stronger, the electronics have become those of a spaceship and the engine has changed dimension. From the original 180 hp, the 65° V-4 spits out 217 hp from its 1099 cm3. As a result, it's no longer a compèt', but that doesn't stop it from being one of the most exceptional sports cars of its time.
