presentation of the CAPONORD 1000 ETV 2001

the CapoNord's fierce styling highlights its strong point, an aluminum perimeter frame, rarely used on a mass-produced trail bike. The position of the engine block has lowered the bike's center of gravity. A few test rides at slow speeds demonstrated the bike's ease of handling and perfect turning radius. The 60° twin-cylinder top end, common to the brand's sports bikes, has been modified to enhance torque and flexibility. Test results confirm the engine's elasticity, with power ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm without difficulty.

in 6th gear, we had to wait until 3,500 rpm (80 km/h) for the mill to start working properly. The chassis has nothing to be ashamed of when compared with a sports car, and offers spectacular driving pleasure, especially when the road starts to turn sharply. It's rigid, light and agile, but unfortunately poor ground-holding and a fork that's too soft and unadjustable temper its ardor. Easy and versatile for its displacement, the Caponord is ideal for bikers reluctant to take the plunge into big trials. In terms of price, it's right up there with the Varadero, the benchmark in this field. The Aprilia has recently come up against a serious challenger, the Suzuki V-strom.

Caponord 2009
Spanish Ivan Model 2008
This is the second time I've bought it, even though I know the electronics are a bit temperamental, but I've managed to find a mechanic who works exclusively on it, as it has the same electronic settings as the ETV1000. I chose it again because it's very comfortable, has an exquisite progressive engine, perfect balance, feet that touch the ground very well, and a very comfortable riding position for my back. Outings with my wife are just for fun. It has good power and acceleration, and I love its design. Even after so many years, it still turns heads. Rating : 4/5

I had the misfortune to buy one, breakdown after breakdown, and now I have to change the injectors but according to my mechanic aprilia no longer makes parts for this model so I'm struggling. If anyone has an address where I can get new parts it would be a pleasure. Yours faithfully Rating : 3/5

I've owned a 1000 caponord for 16 months, and have covered about 26,000 kms with it since I bought it. Comfortable and very playful, with a range of around 300 kms. The only drawback is the temperamental electronics, from the voltage regulator to the alternator stator and ignition coils. But once all these issues are resolved, this bike is a pure delight. I've owned a Caponord for 5 years, and it's a bike you need to get to know well before hitting the road. Balanced, powerful, comfortable even with two people, you only get off the bike to refuel. The trail position keeps your body upright and gives you a good view of the road. With a range of 320km, it's at home on our departmental and communal roads in dry weather, with a soft spot for mountain roads.
Easy on the freeway, but tricky in city centers.

French Clément Model 2002
If you're an all-terrain rider, this is the bike for you: comfortable seat, suspension that absorbs all unevenness, supple at 3,000 rpm and furious at 5,000, it adapts to any situation.

Compared to the Varadero, it's much lighter and sportier, especially if you've changed the fork springs and added dense oil, and if you've set the rear shock rebound to "dur".

On the minus side, you have to admit that the gearbox isn't very precise and misses gears from time to time, and that the bike likes to be on one wheel... both when accelerating and braking, due to its very short wheelbase.

An excellent all-rounder that earns respect for its athletic, aggressive looks.
