presentation of the CAPONORD 1000 ETV 2004
the CapoNord's fierce styling highlights its strong point, an aluminum perimeter frame, rarely used on a mass-produced trail bike. The position of the engine block has lowered the bike's center of gravity. A few test rides at slow speeds demonstrated the bike's ease of handling and perfect turning radius. The 60° twin-cylinder top end, common to the brand's sports bikes, has been modified to enhance torque and flexibility. Test results confirm the engine's elasticity, with power ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm without difficulty.
in 6th gear, we had to wait until 3,500 rpm (80 km/h) for the mill to start working properly. The chassis has nothing to be ashamed of when compared with a sports car, and offers spectacular driving pleasure, especially when the road starts to turn sharply. It's rigid, light and agile, but unfortunately poor ground-holding and a fork that's too soft and unadjustable temper its ardor. Easy and versatile for its displacement, the Caponord is ideal for bikers reluctant to take the plunge into big trials. In terms of price, it's right up there with the Varadero, the benchmark in this field. Recently, Aprilia has had to face up to a serious challenger that has no intention of being a mere figurehead: the Suzuki V-strom. From 2004 onwards, the ETV strengthens its safety credentials with the introduction of ABS as an option.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 11 reviews
Easy on the freeway, but tricky in city centers.
Rating : 4/5 Respond to Capitaine
Compared to the Varadero, it's much lighter and sportier, especially if you've changed the fork springs and added dense oil, and if you've set the rear shock rebound to "dur".
On the minus side, you have to admit that the gearbox isn't very precise and misses gears from time to time, and that the bike likes to be on one wheel... both when accelerating and braking, due to its very short wheelbase.
An excellent all-rounder that earns respect for its athletic, aggressive looks. Rating : 3/5 Respond to Clément
faults: center of gravity too high, tiring in town, Rating : 5/5 Respond to serjio
