presentation of the 650 PEGASO TRAIL 2006

after being transformed into the Strada model to compete with supermotards such as the Yamaha XTX and Fonda FMX, the Pegaso returns with a new evolution, based on the aforementioned Strada. A few minor tweaks have been made to enable the machine to venture off-road, where the trails mix dirt and pebbles. We add a distinctive mudguard under the fork head, remove the sport-tyred rims and replace them with spoked wheels with mixed tires, and increase the suspension travel. Now it's ready to go from town to country with the ease, comfort and simplicity characteristic of this category.
Nothing new on the engine front. Like the road version, the Pegaso is equipped with a 4-valve, fuel-injected Yamaha 660 block. Specific mapping enables it to produce 50 hp, 2 more than the Japanese version, as well as a smidgen more torque. When it comes to practicality, Aprilia has thought of your daily life, with 2 storage compartments (one under the seat, one above the fuel tank), a 2-position adjustable windscreen, and an analog/digital instrument cluster controlled from the left-hand commodo. And if the seat seems too low (820 mm), you can request the option of raising it by 40 mm.

at last, a real trail bike like the late 500 xt! A big, torquey, reliable single with more than enough power to lose license points, but above all to have fun! What's more, it offers real protection with its well-sized, adjustable bubble, so you can look forward to comfortable road trips with peace of mind! Thank you aprilia!!! Rating : 5/5

as the proud owner of a pegaso trail, i was looking to rediscover the sensations of my youth, when trail riding was all the rage. with the pegaso, i've rediscovered the pleasure i had with the XLR 600, without the kiq start-up. the last trail worthy of the name on the market, i've rediscovered the alpine roads and trails with great joy
i find it hard to believe that this machine is reserved for nostalgic old bikers!

the BMW 650 GS engine, although very similar, is different (one less valve and cooled cylinder head) and much more reliable

The fact that the engine is similar to BMW's refers to earlier models, up to 2000 I believe, not those of 2005, which are Minarelli-Yamaha. I have a 660 Trail from 2005 or 2006, with almost 210,000kms, I can provide a photo of the odometer, just a broken electric cable, and a closed glovebox lid. Fewer hoaxes to confuse people. With the Pegaso of 2006 and the GS of the same year, the latter seems third-world, surpassed in everything by the Italian. Rating : 5/5

An endearing, easy-to-handle bike that can be quite playful. I fell in love with its cool lines and was delighted (I had a KLE) to rediscover the single-cylinder engine

Minuses
- Saddle too firm
- Ordinary instrument panel

Plus points
- handling
- torque

very good bike, I have over 30,000 km with the PEGASO and it's a pleasure
The only worries are the inefficient braking
and its height, but we've done so..
with two cars, no problem, it's a pleasure to drive
but don't forget that it's a trail bike and not a sports bike.

At once the most beautiful and the most versatile trail bike of the moment. The good news is that Aprilia has revised its price; at €6499, it's perfectly in the ballpark now. Rating : 5/5
I've got a Pegaso 3, and considering the price I paid for it second-hand (32,000F when the bike was 1 year old and 750km), it's a good deal that's unfortunately not well known. Undeniable road quality in the bends, easy to handle, the brakes lack a bit of bite, excellent bike for everyday use and for touring, much better than the 600 Xt, 600 domiunator or other freewind. The Pegoso 650 cube is a little-known trail bike for most motorcyclists, and wrongly so!
This machine is powered by a 5-valve Rotax engine (also fitted to the BMW F 650) that develops generous torque. This nimble city bike is equally at home on long journeys, with a good 170 km/h on the clock
Freewinds and other dominators can always hang on!
My only regret is the lack of racing parts on the market.
