presentation of the RSV-R 1000 2007
Barely enough time to complete 2 timed laps (2 years) before the RSV-R is dislodged by the 2006 edition. Uninterrupted research into efficiency has led to the gentle but sure evolution of the Noale pistarde. The differences aren't obvious, with the exception of that beautiful gold fork. It's not the Factory-model bike you're looking at, and yet, clamped in your wrists, it's no less than an Öhlins fork that's trapped inside this RSV-R. Treated with titanium nitride, this component is designed to enhance the efficiency of the front drivetrain. With the column angle reduced to 25°, the front end is also more stable. Less visible, but just as important, is the improvement in engine efficiency.
With new, larger exhaust valves (from 31 to 33 mm Ø), optimized air intakee, a new Siemens electronic management system and a number of other modifications, the magnesium V60 develops 5 hp more, giving it 143 hp.
This increase in power is accompanied by a number of aerodynamic modifications. The fairing has been somewhat revised, with increased cooling capacity and better air penetration. The bubble is new, with a double-curved shape. The rear shell, fitted with an LED light, is now higher, making the line even more aggressive. Since 2007, the exhaust tailpipes have also been ovalized.
In Italy, however, the war between the Aprilia RSV-R and Ducati seems to be turning to Noale's disadvantage. Bologna's new hypersport, the 1098, has gone up a liter in displacement. It's not exactly in the same league any more.
