presentation of the DB11 1198 2013
the Bimota DB11 is not really a new model, but rather an evolution of the DB8. Aesthetics are softened by the low-profile, rounded fairing panels, the face relieved by a conventional headlight, and the exhaust signing a return to the shapes of yesteryear. Less tortured, this 11th-generation DB becomes more sensual.
beneath this all-carbon facade, Bimota's hypersports car retains a technical base very close to that of the DB8 / DB9. The chassis is based on the now-ubiquitous half-tubular chrome-molybdenum frame, half aluminum plates. The 43 mm inverted forks are by Marzocchi, as are the Extreme Tech amorto, Brembo radial brakes, OZ Racing wheels and Ducati engine. It's not the 1198's twin that's installed in the bowels of the DB11, but that of the Diavel. at 9500 rpm, 162 hp are on tap. Maximum torque of 13 mkg is reached earlier, at 7,700 rpm. This is more than enough to take the Bimota to formidable performance levels, especially as the beauty weighs just 175 kg.
For those who love this diva but want more wattage in the boiler, the VLX version comes with a compressor and some thirty extra horsepower.
