presentation of the K 1200 RS 2003

a good fat middle-class lady who loves sport. A rather simplistic way of describing the K 1200 RS. The machine, with its classy appearance, cultivates value, presence... and stoutness. The design skilfully blends sportiness and elegance, especially at the rear end, which is particularly slender. The front end is more massive, beefier and heavier, and houses generous attributes. A big 4-cylinder engine bursting with torque and voluptuousness, that doesn't vibrate and knows how to develop its power with nobility. Superbly powerful, it unfortunately boasts only 98 hp in France (instead of 130 in full) to tow nearly 300 kgs.

However, you can count on its generous breath of air and its ability to carry the beast along at a good pace. The chassis, with its aluminum frame and particularly effective Telelever and Paralever suspensions, is more than up to the task. For if the bike is a queen for riding far and fast, taking it to a sporty pace requires a firm grip. The machine is heavy, physical and hard to balance in sequences. The positioning of the K 1200 RS may seem rather ambiguous - too heavy for a sports bike, limited range and too sporty a riding position for a tourer - but its road-holding qualities, high level of finish and big muscle make it a top-ranking motorcycle. Since 2003, touring enthusiasts have also been able to count on its K 1200 GT sibling - the same but with suitcases, more protection and greater comfort.

The most precise and well-tuned engine, a fantastic bike for which I can only reproach the position of the half handlebars, easily soluble with a few extras (turrets), it's without a doubt: The bike. Rating : 5/5
Spanish BMW K Model 2002
I've owned over 50 motorcycles in my life. Without a doubt, this was the best, the most complete and the one I enjoyed the most. The only downside is that I've set it several times to 270km/h. I see it says 230 here? I see here it says 230? Rating : 5/5
Another bike I was lucky enough to own. Impressive, masterful, rigorous, "a block" are the adjectives that come to mind when recalling it. Mine was a full 130hp. For the record, it was the first motorcycle in France since the 1985 law that could be unbridled for next to nothing by cutting a shunt and removing the throttle valves on the intake pipes. It was this little-known and forgotten bike that opened the breach, and after it, everything that made more than 100hp in the world also made more than 100hp in France, well.... not officially but well ;-)
Anyway, my memories of this bike? Marseille to Quiberon in exactly 8 hours (1200km), with the lady and her suitcases - the lady, I might add, peacefully asleep in the back. It was THE bike for this kind of feat. I didn't give it 5 stars because it was tiring in the twisties (not the lady, the bike!), but still, what an achievement and what an engine! Far, far superior to its successor, the K1200S, which I also owned and which was a real M****

French l'ours Model 2005
A little-known superbike. 40,000 km over 2 years. 75 km every day solo from April to November and more on the W.E. as a duo. 2 to 3000km as a duo over a 15-day summer vacation. Yes, it's heavy when stationary and at low speeds. It takes some experience, of course
I'm ready, along with a friend and enthusiast (65,000 km in 3 years), to add to this opinion on request.

fragile rims not covered by bmw warranty Rating : 5/5
i've been riding this bike for 7 months now, and there's not much to complain about, except that the heat from the engine and exhaust system heats up my feet all the way down to my shins, and even when I'm riding at a moderate pace, the heat is always there. Rating : 5/5
French val88 Model 2005
this bike looks responsive but above all it has style and allure. too bad I'm not old enough (12) Rating : 5/5
