presentation of the S 1000 RR Edition Magny-Cours 2017
The BMW brand has long been a fan of competition, racing and performance, and regularly proves it. In rallies, in car championships, in Superbikes, in Endurance, in aviation everywhere. The acronym M from the Motorsport department is enough to stir the emotions of any connoisseur. With this in mind, BM is partnering the Magny-Cours circuit for 3 years.
To celebrate this partnership, a limited-edition S 1000 RR is presented under the best possible auspices. The fairing features a special Motorsport-inspired deco, with the circuit layout on either side of the hoof. Vibrant in color, the bike will be even more dynamic thanks to the HP parts it's equipped with.
In addition to its original equipment, this Magny-Cours Edition gains the Race (with Pro riding modes, ABS Pro and cruise control) and Dynamic (with Shifter Pro, Dynamic Dumping Control, heated grips and white LED indicators) packs. Then there's an all-titanium Akrapovic exhaust system (- 5kg), HP forged wheels (-2kg) and numerous HP carbon components: upper fairing side panel, tank cover, mudguard, airbox cover and windscreen protector. With this package, the weight of the S 1000 RR drops by 8 kilos. The beast boasts 199 hp for 200 kg. Hot at the front, hot underneath, ciao at the back.
The problem isn't really that it's a special series limited to 10 units. The problem is the asking price: 180,000 euros. Yes, it's a hefty sum, but the package includes the bike, a special Magny-Cours BRM watch and a 450-hp BMW M4 Coupé Special Edition. A big check to treat yourself to a motorcycle, a car and a sports watch. From Motorsport.
