What's changing in 2017

another big year for BMW, which is upgrading virtually its entire range. S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, S 1000 XR, K 1600 GT and GTL are all upgraded. The R 1200 GS, R 1200 R, R 1200 RS and R 1200 RT are also adapted to Euro4. The Heritage range is strengthened with the NineT Pure, Racer and Urban G/S, while the original NineT is updated. On the trail side, an all-new G 310 GS takes its place in the catalog. A K 1600 B bagger joins the road-going segment. The F 800 R, GS, Adventure, GT and 700 GS receive Driving Modes. The K 1600 GTL Exclusive finish is not renewed. The Triple Black name returns, this time for the R 1200 GS Adventure. Finally, an HP4 Race prototype announces a very special full-carbon S 1000 RR series.

At high engine speeds (>= 12,500 rpm), the oil filter's screw connection may come loose, causing oil to leak from the oil filter. This can lead to oil deposits on the road, creating slippery sections and increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.

Motorcycles recalled on Friday, October 28, 2022 in 3 countries : K 1600 GTL K 1600 GT

Non-compliant sixth-gear sets have been fitted to gearboxes replaced during a previous workshop intervention. This can lead to excessive wear on the control intervals during prolonged driving at full load in sixth gear. In the event of a malfunction, the gears may not shift properly, or two gears may be shifted at the same time. The rear wheel could lock up and/or the gears could be damaged, increasing the risk of an accident.

The strength of the rear suspension link may be insufficient due to a part that does not meet specifications and may deteriorate over time. This could affect the rider's handling and control, increasing the risk of an accident.
