Motorcycle specifications BMWR 1200 R 2007 Confirming your values

it's finally here! For as long as BMW had been introducing its new Boxer to the various models in its range, the R 1150 R roadster had been growing impatient with the fact that it too could not enjoy the performance of the 1170 cm3. Patience has finally been rewarded: with this new mill, Munich's bourgeois roadster can now claim a new presence on its coat of arms. Attention naked, here comes the new R 1200 R.
bM's R-series roadster is THE classy, bourgeois roadster, a beautiful, thoroughbred machine designed to take you from the golf club to Roland Garros. Not really the kind of machine to get into a street brawl with wild street-fighters. With the 1200 R, things may be about to change. Because by upgrading to a new generation, the bike gains a hefty dose of anabolic power. From 85 hp, the distiller now spits out 109 bhp - an extra 24 hp is quite a push forward, and puts the R 1200 R in direct competition with the Ducati S4R. More power and torque (up from 9.8 to 11.5 mkg) are combined with a staggering weight loss (-20 kg). The color is announced: the R has very serious new ambitions.
however, it's not the wisdom of the design that would have enlightened us about its new performance. The R remains the elegant roadster that characterizes it. However, this new opus seems less inspired, less gentrified than the 1150. Some intrinsic elements have even disappeared. It's a pity that the superb chrome-plated dashboard has been replaced by a black plastic housing featuring the latest generation of BM instrumentation. The front mudguard is back to standard, the two small side-mounted oil coolers have been replaced by a single element in front of the engine, and the attractive split Telelever is back to its original design. A keen eye will have noticed the addition of a steering damper under the Telelever's left arm. The R 1200 R's steering must be particularly lively if this appendage is used on this roadster.
There's also a new exhaust system, a rear end inspired by that of the K 1200 R, the latest version of the Paralever swingarm, superb new rims, and depending on the angle of view, even a hint of the Moto-Guzzi Breva. Amazing, isn't it?
for a roadster of such cachet, you can't help but be pleasantly surprised to discover so much mechanical promise, rather reserved for tougher machines. The R 1200 R proves that you can be sporty in a baron's suit.

I have just purchased a 2010 R1200R, which has no inscription on its tank
I have the BMW advertising brochure for this model dating from 2006 and the model shown has this inscription
Can anyone tell me if it's an option to have the tank with no markings or if it's a factory series as is?
Thanks for any info
Best regards

The only major drawback is the vibrations, but you get used to it.
But apart from that, it's a really great bike, very endearing. Rating : 5/5 Respond to RV
One regret: the sound of the original exhaust is frustrating without the speedometer on the dashboard (very useful, by the way), you'd sometimes be driving in 5 when there's still a gear left. After replacing the original silencer with an arrow race tech titanium, the change is radical and the pleasure bewitching.

I can confirm the qualities of this bike: manoeuvrability, stability, braking, comfort, fuel consumption averaging 5.5L (city/county/road), well-balanced when riding as a duo... a bike that lets you ride far and long without getting tired
It's not the only good bike on the market, but it's a real joy to ride, so give it a try! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Postman
BICYCLE HANDLING,very low fuel consumption, almost equal to that of my 600 Fazer 99.it's amazing!
BMW is the king of the OPTIONS list, which is as long as your arm... It hurts your wallet
But ESA, heated grips (Mmmm in winter!), ABS and valoches (I could go on)
in short, a PLEASURE motorcycle, versatile, an INVESTMENT that I hope I won't have to regret.) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Postman
I've had Honda Transalp, BMW R1100R, Honda 800VFR, Harley Héritage Softel, Yamaha FJR1300, I'm going back to BMW on an R1200RT
All excellent machines, but my great pleasure was my R1100R 5 years ago, smoothness, comfort, finishings, I don't ride fast, I enjoy the nose to the wind, motorcycling for me is ride cool
More expensive it's a fact, but the quality is there
The options are expensive, but compared to Harley, it's still 50% less

and like all bm bikes, they have plenty of torque Rating : 5/5 Respond to speedfight
but you can't push zero to 100 in 3.6 s and go faster than 200 km/h. so what?
a 650 bandit s zero to 100 in 3.6 s and 210 km/h
for 6300 €
okay, it's not the same prestige, and we're not going to talk about finish or comfort either, but what can justify such a price?
why not make simple, reliable products at affordable prices? especially since a flat is less expensive to produce than a four-cylinder? in short, a beautiful machine reserved for wealthy customers who want to ride a luxury machine. Rating : 5/5 Respond to titi27
