Motorcycle specifications BMWK 1200 R Sport 2009 The R dresses before running

after the S, R and GT, BMW Motorrad is exploring a new direction for its K 1200: the R Sport. But why? The K 1200 is already a sports bike. It's not that simple - in fact, this bike could be described as a sport-GT in the BM world.
the K 1200 R Sport, with its half fairing, is designed for fast riding, while its raised riding position makes it less tiring. To this end, the handlebars of the R model have been taken over. In short, this is the roadster to which a sport fork head has been added to increase the versatility of the K series. This element features the famous double bean, characteristic of the brand's car and motorcycle models. An identity element that had disappeared from the manufacturer's latest models, such as the F 800 S & ST, K 1200 S, GT and LT.
mechanically and on the chassis, it's pure K 1200 R. Same chassis, with the latest-generation paralever and the famous duolever (no fork, but a double-arm aluminum frame). And the same 163 hp engine. For a sport-GT, that's pretty hefty, and very provocative indeed from BM.
As always, certain options are sure to charm the future owner. The K 1200 R Sport can be fitted with the ESA handlebar-mounted suspension adjustment system, an RDC tire pressure monitor, heated grips; and by taking a little detour to the High Performance Parts department, you can get a few carbon parts, such as an engine spoiler, a clutch housing, a front wheel cover or a seat cover.
this interesting model is likely to cannibalize the K 1200 S to some extent. The R Sport gives it back 4 hp and a full fairing, but should prove less exclusive. A good match in prospect.
