Motorcycle specifications BMWK 1600 B 2021 Sumptuous bagger

What could motivate the K 1600 B to attack languorous roads on good wheels? A few not-so-innocent modifications in 2021. In addition to reverse gear, the bagger will benefit from an adaptive cornering light, tire pressure monitoring and daytime running lights.
Previous changes date back to 2019, when the seat was lowered from 780 to 750 mm, and Hill Start Control Pro was added to the standard equipment - a hill-starting aid that can come in handy with a vessel of this size. But a more languid vessel than the usual Behemoth productions.
A bagger in the BMW range is a novelty... and rather logical given BMW's desire to expand. For the American market, this kind of custom-touring is a must in the range. For example, the best-selling Harley-Davidson is a bagger, the Street Glide. The K 1600 B has been given this mission, and it's a strong argument in its favor, standing out from the rest of the sector. Almost all baggers are powered by a V-twin; the K 1600 B offers much more majesty with its six-cylinder engine.
The K 1600 B is not totally unknown. Its arrival had been prepared with the 101 concept, presented at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance. Powerful, it has no rivals. Its 160 hp provide almost twice as many watts as the main players in the segment. Only the Honda Goldwing can challenge it in terms of velvety smoothness and mechanical nobility.
The BMW K 1600 B is defined by its distinctive streamline styling, with a low, sweeping rear end. The bike's ambition is reflected in a slender line that plunges backwards, integrating the side cases which in turn incorporate the American-style rear lights. Strictly parallel to the road, the new all-chrome mufflers blend organically into the bagger's lines.
Derived in large part from the technology of the K 1600 GT grand tourer, the K 1600 B gets its spectacular sweeping lines from an entirely new rear section. Not only does it give the bagger a particularly low, stretched look, but thanks to a new rear frame, it also offers the passenger a significantly reduced seat height.
rearranged side panniers and lift-up rear mudguard for easy wheel removal.
The redesigned side panniers feature a flatter lid and lowered body for more comfortable and efficient luggage loading. The rear mudguard can be raised to facilitate rear wheel removal.
high performance and effective protection against wind and weather.
The fairing with its dynamically adjusted windscreen gives the K 1600 B a particularly imposing and powerful look. Underneath the aerodynamic deflectors, the fairing sides extend to the rear to provide particularly effective protection against wind and weather. Hands are protected by wind deflectors. The two rear-view mirrors, with their large, partly aspherical mirrors for an excellent view of following vehicles, also blend in perfectly with the motorcycle's design language.
eSA dynamic electronically controlled suspension with automatic damping adjustment as standard.
Equipped with ESA dynamic electronically controlled suspension and its "Road" and "Cruise" riding modes, the K 1600 B masterfully combines fun, directional stability and dynamic handling to deliver an incomparable riding experience. In standard "Road" mode, damping adjustment is fully automatic, offering maximum comfort and the best possible traction on almost any road surface. In Cruise mode, on the other hand, the K 1600 B switches to a particularly soft damping law, ensuring very pronounced comfort at low speeds.
reverse assist for easy manoeuvring and Shifter Pro for upshifting and downshifting without using the clutch.
On the K 1600 B, maneuvering the bike is a breeze thanks to the reverse assist system. It's easy to activate from the left-hand switch. Just press the start button and the bike moves off.
The optional Pro shifter allows you to upshift and downshift without using the clutch; a large proportion of shifts can be performed via this device.
comfortable footrests for a "feet forward" position and exclusive forged rims available as options for customizing your bike.
A wide range of BMW Genuine Accessories and factory-fitted options are available to satisfy virtually any desire to personalize the K 1600 B. These include comfortable running boards for the passenger, which can also be fitted to the rider's seat, allowing him or her to adopt a particularly relaxed "feet forward" position. New-look forged wheels with eleven double-spoke rims further enhance the K 1600 B's exclusivity.

In order:
1. check the condition of the tires.
2. check the ESA (suspension changes according to load and driving style).
3. The windshield, wind it up for the swirls...
As for the engine, I don't think there's anything to worry about... Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
I can totally confirm the behavior you're talking about, and in fact I used a vocabulary identical to yours at the dealership to tell them about it (waddling, waddling, ...). BMW is well aware of this issue on freeways above 100/110 km/h, which is why this bike has been limited to a higher speed (160 km/h) (it doesn't show up at all in town or on the road, and it's actually very pleasant in terms of acceleration and torque at low speeds)
I agree with you, it creates a real feeling of insecurity, which is absolutely unacceptable on such a bike. It's a magnificent machine, but unfortunately it's been poorly designed. For this reason and a few other small imperfections (very great effort to put it on a center stand, given its weight), I'm considering changing it (it has approx 2000 Km)
I hope you enjoy your ride, but ... at modest speed ... Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
Only one color is available, the Black Storm metallic seen in all the photos<

Very nice bike, the handlebars not very pretty, to see the comfort for the passenger, the noise a little more sustained would be nice.
If not, I like it a lot.ðŸ' Rating : 4/5 Respond to Milou
i've been waiting for this version for years.
i'll take it straight away, of course, after a short test drive, given the price, with a few options thrown in for good measure.
but bmw has achieved a master stroke with this new version.
we look forward to seeing it at the Brussels show in January 2017. 4960 Malmedy belgium Rating : 5/5 Respond to ben

Unfortunately, it's unlikely to find its audience in a US market where "lower is better".
I'm waiting for a naked version that would be even more divine!
imagine, 150kg less, the best engine in the world and... akrapovic!
Dr Hendrik von Kuenheim, when will we see a K16R or K16XR? Rating : 5/5 Respond to DantonQ
