presentation of the 800 MT Explore 2025
The 800 MT is China's first real offensive on the mid-size trail bike market. And on the motorcycle market in general. We've seen 50s, 125s, 400s and 500s all over the place. But now, the Sino-industrial empire is betting on gear capable of seducing our egos, intoxicated by machines with cubic capacity and ambitious performance. With real reassurance: the manufacturer's 700 and 800 models now come with a 5-year warranty.
the CF Moto 800 MT Sport and Touring are very well equipped, at a price well below the competition. This third "Explore" version extends the deal, offering as much as the maxi-trails in a more reasonable mechanical dimension.
the overlay begins with traction control, the possibility of disconnecting the ABS (in certain Modes), the installation of an IMU inertial unit and the addition of 4 extra riding Modes. This 800 MT is available in Sport, Rain, Offroad, Offroad Pus, Allterrain and Allterrain Plus*. The wheels are the same as on the Touring model, but the Maxxis tires are replaced by Michelin Anakee Adventure.
the Explore goes the extra mile with a new 8-inch touchscreen. Huge, almost on the level of an iPad mini, and even bigger than that of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure. Only the BMW R 1250 RT and K 1600 family are superior. The MMI interface has plenty of room to spread out, displaying essential information, GPS, Driving Modes (6), Apple CarPlay and its alter ego Android Auto, and blind spot detection.
How does it work? With a system of radar sensors hidden between the rear indicators. With this technology, the dashboard can warn the driver of an approaching vehicle on the right or left, with a light signal on the involved side.

The mill still boasts 91 hp and 75 Nm, putting it up against machines of repute: Honda 750 Transalp, KTM Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom 800 D.E., BMW F 850 GS and Triumph 900 Tiger.
the MT Explore is thus a more opulent and significantly more adventurous version of the Touring. This means a plethora of on-board equipment: Up&Down shifter, heated seat and grips, engine cover, hand guards, cruise control, center stand, 12V and USB sockets, crash bars, luggage racks, fog lights, tire pressure control... You name it, we've got it.
For dynamics, the chassis features (almost) fully adjustable Kayaba components, 320 mm (front) and 260 mm (rear) brake discs clamped by 4-piston J.Juan radial calipers, steel for the tubular frame and aluminum for the swingarm.
It's a pity, though, as the weight is unquestionable (231 kg), only one color is available in France, and ground clearance is a little tight if you want to tease real off-roaders.
the Explore costs 900 euros more than the Touring. Which is not excessive. However, the final bill may seem high for an 800. Especially when compared to a Transalp. But take any trail bike on the market, add as much equipment as the CF, and look at the banker's face, and you'll immediately understand.
* MT 800 Explore riding modes in detail:

Extremely comfortable, fully loaded
Room for improvement: rough at low RPMs, finicky shifter
Excellent value for the money. Very happy with my purchase Rating : 4/5 Respond to Eric
- engine not linear, not very torquey, luggage expensive 1500€. balance: very positive, to be confirmed with time. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Sed
To be improved so that it is at the top of the top. .. writing on the screen in larger because too small. .. more power in front braking. .. engine more torquey by passing to 890 cc .. side stand to be redesigned because in side slope the crutched motorcycle rocks. And it is all. Great bike Rating : 5/5 Respond to FASTBONI
Still a little high for my meter 70, it weighs a lot at standstill. But once you're off, there's no stopping! It's super comfortable (10 motorcycles before that, including some of Grandma's big customs), and very well protected.
200 km in 3°? Balek!!! feels good on the heated seat, the heated grips keep my pudgy little fingers frost-free, and my torso is protected by the bubble (wear a little wool anyway). Watch the speedometer, it makes you think you're going 90 because of its comfort, and in fact you're going 130...
One thing to complain about (for the moment, only a thousand kms), the headlight ignition is far too sensitive because of the location of the trigger and a fragile cruise control button (delivered broken... but obviously covered by warranty). In short, it was worth it, but above all, worth the cost!!! Very happy with my first trail purchase. Rating : 5/5 Respond to fatbob0107
