Motorcycle specifications Derbi659 MULHACEN 2006 Perfume the roads Spain !

presentation of the 659 MULHACEN 2006
derbi is investing in niches other than its 50s and 80s market. With a gradual move upmarket, including the launch of the Nude and GPR in 125 displacement, the Spanish manufacturer intends to give life to the astonishing Mulhacén model. The first large-displacement motorcycle in Derbi's history is a scrambler with a strong dirt-track visual identity. It's powered by a 659 cm3 4 T single. It's a familiar engine, and with good reason: it's the mill used in the Yamaha XT 660. Initially a concept car, the Mulhacén seems destined to appeal to bikers looking for originality. With its cute little face, compact size, inverted fork with radial brake caliper, fully digital instrument panel, stylish lines and edgy look, this machine is sure to get noticed. Especially with its hefty price tag approaching the 7,000 euro mark. To justify this price, Derbi has no interest in undercutting the performance of its first "big" bike.
To mark its arrival on the market, Derbi is launching a major operation: since Friday May 26, it has been possible to order one of 100 Mulhacéns in a limited, numbered edition on the www.mulhacen.derbi.com website . This series also features a carbon cover on the fuel tank, and Derbi is offering a Berik brand jacket customized with the Mulhacén 659 logo.
The term Mulhacén comes from Muley Hacén, the penultimate king of Granada, who, according to legend, was buried on the summit of the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada and gave it his name.

i've just tried it...it's simply brilliant!!! on a freeway you'll be in front with your hypertrophied vacuums, but come on a real mountain pass (not the ones for foreigners, as they say in Savoie)
it's the very essence of motorcycling !!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to reg19
I've had it for 2 weeks now and I love it: the beast is still being run in and you can already tell how much fun it is to ride, torquey, relatively smooth (!?....it's a gromono!!!.....) compared to the same Yamaha engine (different mapping), happy and eager to take you far.An excellent everyday bike, much more usable than all the hypersports and roadsters that are selling like hotcakes, yet don't do much on bumpy, tricky, curvy country or mountain roads. For me, it's the ideal motorcycle, with great design, equipment and finish that would make any other machine green with envy. Since then, my other motorcycles and my side have stayed in the garage!... it's so good, I'm going back to it right away! hummmmm Rating : 5/5 Respond to gromono
4500 E, there's no new 660 at that price, so ... of course, in terms of looks, instead of the "trumpet" exhaust, we can look forward to a nice double Akrapovic titanium under the backsplash. I'll be taking delivery at the end of the month. In the meantime, I'm dreaming - and isn't that what a bike is all about, after all? Rating : 5/5 Respond to katana
see it in real life it's not bad (there's better) i've ridden the becane on circuit (damn she's got the guts! and on the road it's fine!!!

So, between "I think it's pretty cool" and putting 8,000 euros into it, it's 2. Plus, this version is still a selfish bike... when it could have been the perfect opportunity for 2 people to get away from it all on little country lanes, go to the seaside etc... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Nicolas
