presentation of the Multistrada V2 S 890 2026
The Multistrada V2 evolves considerably in 2025. So much so that only the name and general appearance are retained. Ducati is taking advantage of the arrival of its new 890 engine to completely rethink its trail-GT.
With a new, minimalist aluminum monocoque frame, a new-generation V-twin with variable valve timing and 2 extra horsepower, a new swingarm, a more mature look, much lower weight (Ducat' announces 18 kilos less) and reworked electronics, the Multistrada makes a clean sweep of the past.
It intends to defend its territory with finely tuned efficiency in every respect. As always... Well, almost; since 2019, its desire for efficiency and comfort has led to the introduction of an S version, with semi-active suspension.
Its niche: an ever better filtered road
The Marzocchi components are adjusted in real time by the on-board electronics, working to maintain a stable ride, maximize comfort and optimize roadholding. This has been the Skyhook doctrine from the outset. For this new opus, Bologna has tweaked the settings to limit dive under braking and settling under acceleration. Another new feature, taken from the MTS V4, is that Suspension Modes can now be dissociated from Driving Modes. Either let the engine character determine the damping profile, or try a more personal cocktail, such as a sporty temperament combined with a comfort-oriented chassis, or the opposite, or a whole host of possible configurations. With 5 riding modes and several suspension profiles, there's plenty of scope to discover new sensations.
Last but not least, the Multistrada V2 S features the "Minimum Preload" function, which lowers the rear of the bike at the touch of a button. This makes it easier to put your feet down when stationary, or to climb aboard.
And let's not forget the standard multimedia system, for connecting the phone and interfacing with calls, music and messages.

Now with 115 hp and 9.4 mkg, of which a minimum of 75% is always available between 3,500 and 11,000 rpm, the machine retains certain features such as 19- and 17-inch wheels and Brembo radial piston brakes with 320 mm discs at the front and 265 mm at the rear (2 pistons). Protection is enhanced by an adjustable windshield. The electronics are once again very comprehensive, with a 5-inch TFT color instrument panel featuring modified graphics and three new Infomodes, a new Wet riding mode in addition to Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro, new controls and a whole host of assistants:
- Coming Home to leave the headlights on (for 30 seconds)
- 4 power modes
- New shfiter
- Cruise control
- USB socket
- Traction, wheeling and engine braking controls
- ABS cornering
- Backlit controls
- Automatic stop and hard-braking warning indicators
Still no heated grips or integrated navigation. You'll have to look in the options section to find them. For a bike designed for touring, and given the price, it's a bit mean-spirited.
Condemned to ride in the shadow of the V4, the MTS V2 doesn't lose out, however, and offers the virtues of Ducati touring on a less stifling budget . The S version of the Multistrada V2 boasts 202 kg without fuel, 3 more than the base model, less intimidating power than the big watts of its big sister, and an engine that has everything to prove. Challenges that the Mutli' doesn't seem afraid to take up.
