Motorcycle specifications Ducati950 Multistrada S 2019 Fed up with birthright

On-Off Road

When you've got a big sister packed with watts, equipped with NASA-escaped gear and built to rip up all kinds of roads, you look at her with admiration.... and rage at not having as much. The 950 Multistrada is just as interesting as the 1260, albeit in a less thunderous register. With the same seductive face, obvious versatility and less intimidating appearance, it has a lot going for it. Ducati, however, has listened to its grumblings and has given it its due. An S version comes with features that significantly enhance its appeal.

not everyone needs the power of a sportbike to ride a trail bike. With its 113-hp twin and a more touring-oriented chassis, the 950 is open to a wider public, who won't have to deal with excessive enthusiasm.
Next comes refinement, which it achieves with this S version. The big plus is the adoption of Skyhook Evo semi-active suspension. Taking into account data from several accelerometers, ABS sensors and the new I.M.U. inertial unit, the system continuously adapts damping. The 4 driving modes and load settings (rider only, rider with luggage, rider with passenger or rider with passenger and luggage) allow you to tailor the dynamics to your needs. Which can be fine-tuned, as the system can be further enhanced by fine-tuning the front and rear. The manufacturer claims a total of 400 parameter combinations. Except that, in the end, 95% of users will leave the electronics to work on their own once they've got past the discovery stage. Like those ovens with 80 cooking modes, when you're going to be using only 3 on a daily basis. But there's always that feeling of being able to investigate further, as and when required.

Ducati 950 Multistrada S 2019highly technological suspates as a main course, that's appreciable, Miss Multistrada. A dessert would delicately finish off the appetizer before hitting the road. And it's precisely the dessert that allows you to appreciate the extra equipment available when your name is S. Here, it's backlit commodos, a keyless start system, an Up&Down shifter, cruise control, LED headlights with DCL function for cornering according to the rider's riding style.a high-resolution color TFT display (identical to that on the Multistrada 1260 S and Enduro) and the option of spoked wheels for off-road excursions. Heated grips too? No, not yet. As an option, for a 16-bar wheel, it's average. A dubious choice, and one that Ducati is far from alone in perpetuating.
Come on, let's make the pill go away with what else is on offer, shared with the standard 950.

what's on offer? An adjustable bubble, VHC hill-start assist, cornering ABS, traction control, turn signals that turn off by themselves, 4 driving modes, lightened rims, two 12V sockets, a USB port, smoother hydraulic clutch control, and that very Italian attitude. A character and plasticity that you show, that you cultivate, that you impose with gesture.
Well, not the same weight - the S weighs 3 kilos more. Negligible: with the power of the twin-cylinder and almost 10 mkg of torque, that's not going to change the ride.

the new 950 S Multistrada is less powerful than the 1260 S, but comes with equipment that is much closer to its predecessor. It's enough to treat yourself to a good dose of Ducati premium, trail-style. Still, it's a pretty hefty price to pay for a mid-size trail bike. If you widen your field of vision, you can see that the competition is much more affordable; even a Tiger 800 XRt seems reasonable by comparison. You'd have to go to MV-Agusta to find anything more expensive. This gives us a pretty good idea of the positioning of this MTS 950 S.

Ducati 950 Multistrada S 2019the brand invites you not to put your wallet away just yet. Do you have a particular theme in mind? Take your pick; the banker's going to yell at you anyway...
