presentation of the Scrambler 800 Icon Dark 2026
The 800 Scrambler Icon gets a darker, more customizable and less expensive version, the Dark. It's one of the intrinsic characteristics of the Ducati name: motorcycles stripped of all traces of paint to achieve the lowest price in the family.
This was the case for many machines in all categories. The Icon let itself be persuaded by the rite, even if it was a bit out of place on a machine with a colorful soul. Two years of Dark, then ciao in 2021. A pause rather than a farewell. Black is back in the Next-Gen series, with the same determination.
The most accessible of Bologna's roadsters thus pledges its allegiance to a dress of black. Apart from the symbols on the belt covers and reflectors, everything is matte and dark. The previous version had left a touch of whimsy with gray tank sides - this time, you've got nothing to activate your retinal cones. Except for the TFT speedometer and the red controls on the right-hand commodo.
Let's get to the point: the Dark is 1,000 euros cheaper. A bill you can keep in your pocket or use to decorate, accessorize or sticker the bike to your heart's content. With a blank surface like this, anything goes. In fact, Ducati warmly invites enthusiasts to do just that.
Or more simply, ride without worrying about appearance and just enjoy this fun bike. Under your hand, the good old air-cooled Desmodue with two bowls, the iconic Desmodromic valve train, 73 horsepower and lots of underlying electronics. Two driving modes, traction control, cornering ABS, a striking daytime visual signature and an under-seat USB port. And on the options side, we hear whispers of a shifter and multimedia equipment to interface with the smartphone.
Others will be more receptive to the Scrambler's bodily arguments, such as the steel trellis frame, Brembo radial braking, 41 mm Kayaba inverted forks and Pirelli MT 60 RS mixed tires. But whether in the light or the shade, the Ducati troublemaker remains the same: a motorcycle with a quilted smile.
