presentation of the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak 2012
with its 1200 Multistrada, Ducati has quite simply invented the "hypersport trail bike that knows how to travel". As proof, in 2010, the machine didn't hesitate to take on one of the world's most grueling hill climbs: Pikes Peak. It's the kind of crazy stuff we love. 156 bends over 19.93 kilometers of dusty road, a start at 2,865 meters altitude, 1,440 meters of vertical drop, and a 600-meter drop if you leave the road as you approach the finish line.
2 years ago, a Multistrada piloted by Greg Tracy brilliantly won the 1200 cc category and finished 2nd overall. To celebrate this victory, Bologna is releasing a limited-edition 1200 S Pikes Peak, with Ducati Corse paintwork and a handful of sporty features. Being an S model, the bike is equipped with Öhlins suspension, electronically adjustable in 4 modes, allowing you to switch from sport to enduro with a click. This special series adds to the package a Termignoni carbon exhaust, a racing bubble, the snout and mudguard in the same material. A few cosmetic touches underline the bike's exclusivity: black anodized footpegs and hoof, red-painted trellis frame and red stitching on the seat.
here's a short video to give you an idea of what's going on out there...
