presentation of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro 2018
Man. The machine. Time. Made to meet on the edge of paths, dreams and thirsts for conquest. For each of them, grabbing the handlebars means the start of a story, short or eternal, banal or intense. But many would only dream of the everyday scenery that fades away when the thumb presses the starter, the wind sweeping away the concrete to lay the foundations of stone and adventure.
The adventurous segment nurtures this chimera, and Ducati intends to place its sherpas there. With its MTS, there's plenty to do, in terms of character. A hypersporting trail bike, the 1200 Multistrada first offered itself a wide range of roads, to the point of openly challenging the KTM Adventure and BMW GS with its Enduro version. This time, it's a question of going even further, of looking towards that horizon from which walls of dust rise, of putting the crampons down where there's no longer any difference between the trail and the immensity. This destination is the job for the Pro version of the Multistrada Enduro.
in Bologna, you clearly don't want to find the smell of aromatics and sand, even if a desire for sport can't be detached from the in-house DNA. The factory deftly transforms the MTS Enduro through a series of modifications that reinforce its adventurous side... or rather, affirm it. Its warm sand color and superb two-tone saddle announce the desert, and its equipment the need to counter it. The Enduro Pro's spoked rims are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally studded tires, much more suited to off-road riding than theEnduro's Scorpion Trail tires. The shoulders are protected by a Touratech tubular trellis, adorned with additional headlights. To improve visibility on the trail, this MTS opts for a lower sports bubble. The sound is released by a Termignoni titanium exhaust. Finally, the Pro also features a black finish on the alternator and clutch housings. Weight rises by 7 kilos to 261 units fully loaded.
The Mutistrada Enduro Pro is powered by the big 1200 DVT twin originally used on the sporty 1198. It's not the latest 1262 cm3 block, but there's plenty of 152 hp and 13 mkg in the connecting rods. Enough to devastate any rut, lay down a few trees and make off much faster than the Sirocco.
Extensively equipped, the Pro benefits from the equipment fitted as standard on the Enduro, i.e. Skyhook pilot-controlled suspension, 4 Riding Modes (Enduro, Touring, Sport and Urban), IMU inertial unit and curve-active ABS, a5-inch TFT color display, full LED lighting, cruise control, traction control, anti-wheeling, 30-liter fuel tank, Bluetooth multimedia system.
A large on-board crew, and no more excuses for staying on the asphalt when this Enduro Pro wants to ride the other roads, the hard ones, the far-off ones. All this for an extra 2,000 euros and a wide-open window on azimuths and parallels.
