the Springer owes its very existence to its distinctive, yet exuberant fork. A very rarely used model: a parallelogram fork. The first Springer model appeared shortly after the 2nd World War, and the principle itself dates back to the 1930s. This type of front axle is heavier and more expensive than a classic double fork model, but it has certain advantages: greater comfort, equivalent efficiency and a devastating appearance. With the Springer, you're sure to get a lot of curious on café terraces. The real disadvantage is that the machine didn't benefit from the new brake calipers when Harley overhauled its range with the new 1450 engine.

as a result, braking isn't up to scratch for this big custom. Too bad, because the 88B twin has a lot more going for it than the old 1340. More power, more torque, more length and more pleasure - thanks also to the new gearbox. The shocks have also been improved. Apart from its brakes, the Softail is a healthy ride. The model pictured above is the Springer Heritage version, distinguished by its large mudguards, saddlebags and whitewall tires.
