presentation of the 1920 Street Glide ST FLHXST 2022

the Street Glide seemed to be on the sidelines. Overshadowed since 2019 in its simplest definition, it had to leave its territory to the Special version, but retained its prestige with the premium CVO version. But what about the standard model, the undisputed leader of the Harley catalog?

it simply took the time to stage its comeback. To take its revenge on the Special. To become a severely burned-out bagger, to go further, faster, with a notion of Sport Tourism unheard of in Harley. As muscular as a CVO and as sober as a bobber.

with its ego, the Street Glide has evolved towards a more "bad" touch, bordering on "smooth criminal", with simplistic dresses (ideal for customization work). Two taciturn colors to choose from, virtually no chrome, blacked-out parts galore: exhaust line, forks, engine, levers and controls, headlights and indicators, handlebars and pots, dashboard and gauges, air filter and solo seat - the lady's soul is thick as tallow and grumbles like the Michigan wind.

underneath this Dark gait, aplomb continues with saucy touch-ups. Shamelessly nicked from the Special. Harleys like to barter with each other. Here, the Prodigy wheels are highlighted by a bronze finish. The front protection bars are almost twice the size of those on the old Street Glide. Even the tank console has a low profile.

finally, the only bright spots on the ST are the rocker arm rods and the engine's machined cooling fins. The Street Glide's retaliation can't wait!

Harley-Davidson 1920 Street Glide ST FLHXST as for the Milwaukee Eight twin, it had to make do with the 107 version, while the Special strutted its stuff with the 114. Now it's got even more power, with the addition of the extra-large 117 and its 1923 cm3. The growl, tone and breath are no longer of the same expression. Thanks to this heart transplant, torque jumps to 17.1 mkg at 3500 rpm. The previous model had a ceiling of 15.3 mkg.
There has also been a significant and symbolic increase in power. With the 107 ci, 89 horsepower were in the stable. With the new FLHXST, at the same 5,450 rpm, this figure has risen to over a hundred (103 to be precise). A real heart of beef.
Recognized by its little refinements, such as the colored stripes on the rocker covers or its Heavy Breather air filter. It's enough to get you up and running like a wrestler, with the hectic, deceptively weary and greasy character of American mechanics.

the difference in velocity between the two sisters promises to be serious. And yet, when stationary, the two protagonists look almost like identical twins. The Street Glide stands out from the Special mainly thanks to its suitcases, which don't try to cover the end of the exhausts, its two-seater seat, its wider choice of colors, the shorter front mudguard, and its smaller engine - 1868 cm3 nonetheless.

the frame takes up the family's characteristics, with its double-cradle steel frame in Touring format. The 49 mm fork features a double-valve damping system. The rear shock absorbers can be adjusted for preload only. ABS completes the Reflex interconnected braking system with 3 x 300 mm discs. To stop 369 kilos + crew, lulled by the twin-cylinder or the sound system.

Harley-Davidson 1920 Street Glide ST FLHXST 2022 e ntertainment can also beprovided by the Boom Box GTS, featuring a 6.5" color TFT touch screen. The multimedia console manages GPS navigation, radio, Bluetooth telephone, MP3 playback via several media, voice recognition and 4 x 25 watts of sound.
On-board electronics also include cruise control, Daymaker LED headlights, hands-free system with Smart Security alarm, and the inimitable old American-style dashboard with its multiple dials. The whole thing nestles in the wide Batwing forkhead, topped by a micro windscreen to preserve the style.

what a comeback for the Street Glide! Here it is, equipped with the kind of power that only a select few in the Harley range have had the privilege of enjoying until now. In its ST version, the Street Glide's huge twin can be used for touring without ostentation. As an option, you can ask for more active safety, with the electronically enhanced RDRS. This package includes interconnected brakes, ABS, traction control and residual torque control, all angle-sensitive thanks to the on-board IMU, plus tire pressure monitoring and hill-start assist.

BLACK BULL
French 6 foot 4 Model 2023
This bike is a bull: powerful, aggressive with a very assertive character. Tame it with care, given its size and heavy weight. The bull's heart beats, and its capabilities can take you a long way... it pulls hard, and if you ride it with confidence and dexterity, you'll find yourself tickling the BMW RTs... It's still very endearing, and deserves your undivided attention, whether you're riding it or maintaining it. Rating : 4/5
