Motorcycle specifications Harley-Davidson 1745 STREET GLIDE FLHX 2019 A passport to the West
presentation of the 1745 STREET GLIDE FLHX 2019
The Street Glide, in its simplest form, regularly disappears from the Harley catalog... only to return stronger and stronger. The Special model held the territory while it gauged the terrain, questioning its return. Then, the Special became sufficiently differentiated in recent times that the Street came back with strong arguments, without eating into its cousin's clientele.
the last time we saw it, it was boasting its Twin Cam High Output and Rushmore upgrades. The Batwing fairing had been reworked: a slot at the base of the mini windscreen appeared, reducing turbulence around the rider. The BOOM BOX audio system is now available in the GTS version. Faster, more intuitive, the multimedia package significantly improves the contrast of its 6.5-inch TFT screen, doubles its resolution, is compatible with Apple CarPlay and enhances interactivity with the driver. BOOM features 25 watts per channel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, GPS, CB radio and voice-activated intercom. On the practical side, let's not forget the One-Touch system (on the fuel filler cap, saddlebags and other hatches) for easy opening and closing at the touch of a button.
So, we've seen the Street Glide's liabilities. Now let's take a look at its assets. What could be better than an even bigger, fuller, more generous engine? Do we really need to introduce the Milwaukee-Eight yet? Not really, but let's go over the main features. The Twin Cam 103 is even chunkier, with 1745 cm3 of displacement, 4 valves per cylinder, 4 spark plugs on board and reduced vibration at idle. It offers a few more horses and, above all, a nice ladleful of torque. Good, because the Street Glide has put on a little weight. But not enough to change anything. The M8 offers enough fat to revel in low-end riding, and enough character to ride with a smile aboard Harley's most sought-after bagger.
