presentation of the CRF 450 RX Rally 2025
At the thought of venturing into a rally-raid event, the first thing that comes to mind is Katoche—and why not treat yourself to one of their customer-spec vehicles?
The Austrian brand is capitalizing fully on its multiple victories and its overwhelming dominance (for the competition), but it’s far from being the only player in this niche market.
Honda re-entered the discipline some time ago. With great success! Its factory machines dominate the terrain, and experienced fans can now get their hands on a customer version thanks to distributor Euroboost (France) and tuner RedMoto (Italy). Here is the 2025 model, meticulously tuned:
A partnership to deliver the experience
Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and RedMoto announce their collaboration to produce rally motorcycles designed for participation in international competitions, including the Dakar Rally.
HRC will also explore partnership opportunities with rally teams to offer support to riders who wish to compete in these events with the new CRF450RX Rally.
For its first year of production and sales, production of this homologated model will be limited to 50 units and available exclusively via pre-order.

Absolute agility and maximum stability
To be as close as possible to the official CRF RALLY version and to have a machine that meets race specifications, the CRF 450RX chassis was used as the technical base. This ensures maximum dynamic stability on extremely rough and rocky terrain. The motorcycle is equipped with a dual fuel tank (front/rear) with a total capacity of 36 liters. The 14-liter rear tank is mounted on silent blocks, reducing inertia in corners and allowing the rider to maintain a lighter, more agile, and more controlled ride.
Carbon steering head
This component is the farthest from the bike’s center of gravity and has a significant impact on its agility. By making the tower lightweight yet sturdy through the use of carbon fiber, the bike remains maneuverable while being able to withstand the impact of potential crashes. The roadbook’s angle can be manually adjusted to allow riders to find the most suitable setting. Additionally, the subframe of the swingarm is independent of the main frame, allowing for easy removal for repairs and maintenance during races.
Ergonomic riding position
The rear fuel tank combines high-strength nylon and polyethylene to save space while optimizing volume. Its design contributes to the rear frame structure, thereby increasing rigidity for more precise handling. In the rider’s movement zone, the front and rear fuel tanks have been refined to match the dimensions of official CRF Rally models, offering a natural and unobstructed riding position for maximum control.

Carbon Engine Skid Plate
Just like the official CRF Rally kit, this kit includes a high-strength carbon fiber skid plate designed to protect the most exposed lower section of the large 22-liter front fuel tank from debris and impacts. It also protects key components such as the frame, engine casing, and exhaust manifold. The front section features a “sledge” profile that helps dissipate the impact energy from obstacles without compromising handling. Additionally, a convenient integrated tool compartment allows riders to carry essential tools for emergency repairs during race stages.
Suspension
The fork features specific damping settings and springs with different spring rates. The fork is equipped with oversized titanium tubes with Kashima surface treatment, while the shock absorber features a titanium-coated piston rod to reduce friction, just like the CRF450R Works Edition.
Fork Clamps
As on the CRF450R Works Edition, the stiffness-to-strength ratio has been optimized thanks to components developed jointly by XTRIG and Honda. The bike is also equipped with a steering damper.

Braking
The front brake disc measures 300 mm for improved braking power. The rear disc, meanwhile, has a revised thickness to enhance resistance to extreme stress and improve heat dissipation.
Wheels
Developed specifically by HAAN, the hubs are CNC-machined from solid aluminum, while the rims are manufactured by Takasago Excel. Cush Drive torque dampers have been added to absorb violent impacts, improve shock absorption, enhance riding comfort, and reduce rider fatigue.
Engine
The entire engine has been designed with a single purpose in mind: rallying. Delivering a maximum power output of approximately 58 hp, it maintains excellent reliability. The six-speed transmission with long gear ratios allows for precise control at any RPM while ensuring exceptional acceleration across the entire RPM range. An oversized auxiliary radiator has been integrated into the technical package to lower oil and coolant temperatures, thereby preserving the engine’s overall reliability even under extreme conditions.

Exhaust
The titanium exhaust silencer, developed by Akrapovic, is the same as the one used on the official CRF Rally, delivering identical power performance. The headers and connecting pipes, meanwhile, are manufactured directly by HRC.
Additional Special Parts
The bike is equipped with Renthal handlebars, Acerbis hand guards, a front fender identical to that of the factory CRF Rally, oversized footpegs, and a full LED lighting system.
