presentation of the V3R 900 E-Compressor 2027
Honda is keeping the suspense alive surrounding its supercharged V3R 900 roadster. After first revealing only the engine and then, a year later, the prototype, the final version is now on display. It’s enough to appreciate its face and contours, its features and its look, to imagine its power and ferocity… but without knowing just how far it might go into the realm of madness.
Because its creators still haven’t announced its power output or technical specifications. The bike sheds its camouflage to reveal understated, elegant colors; its contours are now clearly defined, signaling a machine ready to hit the road. Remaining very faithful to the prototype, the V3R 900 has simply added road-legal equipment.
More aggressive on the inside than on the outside
In the absence of technical excitement, its visual unveiling allows us to appreciate the single-sided swingarm, the presence of a large titanium fuel tank, a technical and serious design, a compact TFT instrument panel, and a power output that’s almost unimaginable at first glance yet lurks in the shadows like a bear behind a fir tree.
Honda remains vague about the engine’s power:“a 900 with performance comparable to that of a 1200.” It’s enticing, yet leaves you wanting more. A few leaks are already enough to make your shoulders ache, with torque said to be beyond insane. With a power band that kicks in very early and peaks at… Even a Hayabusa would be afraid. But we’ll have to wait a little longer to grasp the full extent of this V3.

Honda had already experimented with the V3 on the NS400R back in the ’80s. Today, only the cylinder layout is comparable. This engine features a 75° angle between the cylinders, two of which are positioned toward the front. As mentioned above, its displacement will be 900 cm³—a figure that’s already quite impressive. Just look at how much fun you can have with Yamaha’s 890 cm³ CP3 or the exhilarating character of the MV Agusta Enduro Veloce’s 931 cm³ engine.
But here, the air will be pressurized. Honda is the first manufacturer in the world to install an electric supercharger on a motorcycle. Kawasaki has long been pressurizing the engines of its H2 models ( Ninja H2, H2R, H2 SX, Z H2) but with a mechanical system—one that’s dependent on engine speed. Honda’s technology will allow the Garrett supercharger to engage almost instantly, operate independently of RPM, and benefit from highly precise control over its operation. Basically, it can deliver strong boost even at low RPMs and continuously modulate that boost.
When will it be available?
We now have a look at the V3R 900 E-Compressor as it will appear on the market. All that’s left is to wait and see when and how it will blow the competition out of the water. One thing is certain: the riding experience will reach a whole new level.
