Motorcycle specifications HondaCB 1300 S Fairing ABS 2007 The ''Bol d'or'' is back

presentation of the CB 1300 S Fairing ABS 2007
an excellent surprise from the winged manufacturer to round off the month of January. An evolution we'd been hoping would see the light of day. We thought about it, Honda did it. And what class! Here, at last, is the streamlined version of the CB 1300.
The big roadster, which won over many fans of big torque and generous engines, as well as inspiring them with its dynamic qualities, made its passengers dream of the great outdoors. All it needed was this protective appendage to extend its range and provide serious roadholding qualities. Now it's here.
But wait, look, scrutinize, call up your memories. This CB 1300 S, it calls to you. It's impossible to get the thought out of your mind "I've seen this somewhere before, it reminds me of..." And it doesn't come. But this line, these colors, this graphic design, it's...
a tribute to the famous CB 1100 R Bol d'or! One of the finest machines of its time. With this bike, Honda takes us back to its past and immerses us in the superbikes of the 80s. The design office has done things right: check out the lateral shapes of the fork head, with its little ventilation holes; lock in on the colors that take you straight back to 1983; tear out a little retina on the golden brake calipers. It's beautiful, and it'll get your brain working.
This top fairing, in addition to strongly asserting the CB 1300's personality, will enable you to travel with greater zest and serenity. Designed to offer optimum aerodynamic protection, it should also enhance stability at high speeds. There's no longer any need to worry about putting in toll tickets or change: the interior returns of the forkhead are equipped with 2 gloveboxes, each holding 1 liter. The one on the left can even be locked.
The CB 1300 S benefits from the recent mechanical improvements made to the standard 1300, i.e. reworked mapping and a new clutch.the clutch and rear torque dampers have been redesigned for even smoother throttle response.
the Kawasaki ZRX 1200 R "Lawson replica" is another example of the category's nostalgia. In 2005, there will also be the Honda CB 1300 S "Bol d'or 80's replica". With this big roadster, Honda offers a serious rival to the ZRX 1200, both the S and the R. The GSX 1400 and XJR 1300, which don't come with a semi-clad version, are starting to look a little rough. A case to follow? No,.
every time you ride the CB 1300 S, you think: Generous! Like the breath of the engine: powerful, torquey, with an impressive trunk and great biceps. Like the quality of the damping, which really invites you to rest your buttocks for hours on end on the Honda's large saddle. Like the smoothness of the transmission, which eliminates jerks and jolts without depriving you of the essential - the strength of the big 4-legged machine. Like the half fairing that opens up the road, inviting you to ride until you run out of steam.
Set at half throttle on the big ribbon, the boiler purrs gently, but always ready to pounce as soon as a command comes from the right-hand handle. A sizeable pilot is adequately protected at highway speeds, although it feels as if only a few km/h are needed for the forces of Aeolus to take over and for various eddies to invite themselves on board.
If the asphalt tongue turns into a winding track, you can exploit the muscle of the 1300 and the rigor of the chassis to offer yourself a good dose of fun and/or winding - either or both, the CB 1300 S likes it both ways. You can brake with complete peace of mind, either to slow down the pace or to prevent a dry corner. The system has plenty of power, is easy to dose and is backed up by ABS.
It's a nice, rewarding picture, and even though it may seem expensive, the CB 1300 S offers you a lot: beautiful lines, good-quality finish, high-quality suspension, chassis and engine, ABS. The only thing missing is a center stand and a bit of protection. But the passenger was so happy...

And a very pleasant surprise. Honda's usual quest for balance translates here into a machine that's heavy and very stable, but still easy to ride, giving a surprising impression of lightness as soon as the clutch is released in 1st gear. It's immediately docile, but you have to learn to handle the throttle very lightly at first. In 1/5th of a thump for the first few minutes, it's always lively, even at low revs, which you'll find yourself enjoying. And then all you have to do is open the throttle, and you're greeted with a truly satisfying amount of torque, very linear but not devoid of personality, as it kicks in from 1,500 to 8,000rpm. But it never surprises! For me, this is its great quality, but for others it's its great flaw. It will appeal to those who like to be surprised by omnipresent power, tuned to the slightest turn of the wrist, rather than by a sudden surge of speed, which is fun but perhaps requires more seriousness. It's the serious-fun mix that I prefer, taking it everywhere on a daily basis, creeping along at low speed in the city center, then letting loose on the road, always good everywhere, precise and fast. As for its reliability, there's no need to go into that :) Rating : 5/5 Respond to ElNhix
With it, I discovered the meaning of "torquey engine" and quickly understood that with a four-cylinder engine, it's better to have everything right away than nothing at low revs and thunder at high revs. At least for everyday driving and keeping your license. That's just my opinion, and there's something for everyone
Its only two faults, in my opinion, are the fact that it only has 5 gears, which I believe will change as of 2014, and its weight when stationary, when you need to move it to the garage or move it with the engine off, for example. It's heavy, but as soon as the first gear is engaged, it's relaxed. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
The extra weight is forgotten from the very first few meters, giving way to surprising maneuverability. In short, it's a real pleasure to drive, even at standstill, with its superb lines and exemplary finish. A job well done, Mr HONDA. Rating : 5/5 Respond to albi
It also performs well in the rain. The fuel tank gives a decent range. Occasionally, it can also become a machine to lose license points, or even your license altogether, so be wary, and leave yourself a few weeks before going out on it, because with this machine you need to get to know the engine and the rider. It's not brutal, but still! Rating : 4/5 Respond to sebastien
Much better handling than my ex-Bandit 1200 from 2003.
The only complaint is the rear suspension, which pumps.
You don't feel it on the main roads, but on the bends in the hinterland of Nice, it's a real pain. It's still sound, but it feels like you're on a yoyo. What a pity, especially as the chassis is perfect. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Marco
I owned one for 6 months and did 10,000km on it, and I'm taking one back as soon as I can.
Admittedly, it's heavy, both at standstill and in the pif-paf, but the engine easily compensates for the (slight) extra weight, and it's very stable, giving you a feeling of confidence. A gentle monster that doesn't need to rev its engine to overtake anything on the road. Comfort is really good (some vibration in the fork head can be easily suppressed). Braking is top-notch, as on all modern Hondas. What I particularly like is the feeling of riding a "real" big cube, something I didn't feel on my CB1000r (a very good bike, by the way).
In short, a bike that can do everything except make you forget about it. (my wife tells me to remember passenger comfort^^) Rating : 4/5 Respond to rahan125
The lack of a center stand bothers me when it comes to maintenance.
A big stove pipe on the right, apart from the aesthetics, is above all difficult to reconcile with a pair of suitcases.
Otherwise, with a top case, you can plan to go on the road, provided you're not too fussy about the amount of clothes you need to take with you! Rating : 4/5 Respond to claudeh2956
i've been riding a cb 1300s for 3 weeks now after regretfully giving up a 1000 cbr rr(fantastic bike!)the cb is rather heavy but really a surprising bike, ugly in photo it is very beautiful in real (not photogenique the beautiful one), heavy with the stop it is very light while rolling (the appearances are misleading once again), a fantastic engine, a braking idem, a road holding with the top, it requires nevertheless to supervise it well (not as easy as the vfr, or meme the cbr).a cool bike which I discover a little more every day
Bonne route a tous Rating : 5/5 Respond to pe

It remains to be seen on a test ride, as the weight seems rather high, but I've already fallen for it, and it's likely to be my first Honda! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Philochard
Nothing to do with the "S" from Suzuki or Yamaha in any case!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to ddsp
