Motorcycle specifications HondaNT 700 V DEAUVILLE 2008 Profile of a vocation

discreet, multi-purpose and ready for anything, the 650 Deauville quietly went about its business in a relaxed, servile manner. In fact, it didn't have to worry about its surroundings, since it was the only one to move in them. This monopolistic status as a mid-displacement GT continued with a generous redesign from Honda.
gone is the gentle, polished look of the 650 - this new, tauter 700 draws its inspiration from certain models in the range. The most obvious is the headlight unit, closely derived from that of the CBR 1100 XX. With this elegant makeover, the Deauville also increases its level of protection, comfort and practicality. The new windscreen is adjustable in height and inclination. The capacity of the suitcases has been increased, from 24 to 27.4 L on the left and from 19.5 to 26.7 on the right. A useful little trick is that they are connected by a tunnel, making it possible to carry long objects. If that's not enough, deeper lids are available as an option.
Under the rider's buttocks, foam and a different seat shape for greater comfort; for the rider's posture, half-handlebars raised by 30 mm to improve straightness; for the legs, narrower side covers that make it easier to put your feet on the ground.
there are no pronounced changes to the chassis, apart from the introduction of ABS as an option, and a minor modification to the CBS combined braking system.cBS combined braking system already fitted on the 650, and a new rear shock preload adjuster, offering 40 positions and a large, easy-to-access knob.
As for the engine, it's more extensive and even more substantial, which would seem to indicate that this is the Honda that is evolving the most for 2006. The indestructible twin-cylinder gains 33 cm3, swapping its 3 valves and 2 spark plugs per cylinder for an 8-valve cylinder head with one plug per combustion chamber. More compact, the chambers deliver a higher compression ratio. To comply with Euro 3 standards, the old carburetors have been replaced by PGM-FI injection; the new exhaust system takes care of the rest. As a result, the engine gains almost 9 hp and 15% extra torque.
numerous accessories are planned for the 700 Deauville, and with this in mind, the alternator delivers 50% more power, i.e. 452 W. The list is long enough to create a mini-Goldwing. Just a few examples? 45 L top case, front and rear fog lights, deeper luggage lids, MP3 audio system, speaker kit, heated handles, GPS, 12 V socket, wind deflectors...
The 700 Deauville is now ready to conquer the courier market in the big cities.

After a year on the road with her, here's a little report
Comfortable, fuel-efficient, almost 400 kms on a full tank. A bit high for me (1.68), good roadholding and effective braking (thanks to the CBS).
A few criticisms: the engine is a bit weak for a loaded duo, 80 or 90 hp would be nice
And last but not least, a 6th gear is missing, why??? Rating : 4/5 Respond to Zolive08
The plus is the cardan shaft, which requires very little maintenance and is extremely robust
Mine has a total of 45,000km, bought at 35,000km for 3500€, and is in impeccable condition. I've added a top case to hold 2 modular helmets, a comfortable saddle and wide luggage shells for long trips.
There's no comparable machine on the market today (700ccm road bike with cardan shaft) Rating : 5/5 Respond to BARBIDOU

34 hp, not 35 kW or 47.5 hp.
It's a bit too easy to blame the site when you don't have the candor to admit your mistake. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
The minus point is the weight: for the power of this 700, it's 25>30kgs too much, so taking it on in a duo is sometimes a problem.
Mr Honda, without imagining a tank, could you make it for us, for example, with the Africa Twin's 85>90hp engine / 22L tank. Keep the 150 for the rear, this type of bike needs to be easy to handle, simple, practical and solid. Let's get to work. Rating : 3/5 Respond to River
I've had to dismantle the rear end 3 times to solve this problem. Rating : 3/5 Respond to djidjou
Indeed, it's a bit surprising to have imagined that the original structure could hold... unless you don't use the cases! Rating : 1/5 Participate in the conversation
solid, sober bike, average performance, but it's a 700 with a fairing, not a 1400! Rating : 3/5 Respond to tthierry

light and maneuverable to fit into traffic
very good driving position
much higher rating than the "BOF\". Rating : 1/5 Respond to DIDIER
i've been riding a 700 Deauville for 4 years and I can't think of a blander engine
solid yes, roadholding and braking yes
but the engine HOOOOOOOOO Rating : 2/5 Respond to treuil

Two falls at standstill were not serious. I'd recommend this bike to beginners who want to enjoy a two-up ride. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Christian

Almost daily use, night and day, for 3 years and 32,000 km on the small roads of the South-West and in town, with this safe, comfortable and easy-to-handle machine (as soon as you're on the road). It's not a thunderbolt, as you'd expect, but it still gets you up to 160 just for fun! Watch out for speed cameras.
I'd recommend it. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Muzi
i'm 1m60 tall, I'd like to take the deauville
but I'm afraid the height of the bike won't suit me. Now I know that you can make modifications according to your height. I would like to know your opinion on the matter. Thank you!!! Titine Rating : 3/5 Respond to Titine
comfort saddle, madam appreciates it. 2 bowls when stopped, broken collarbone.
i'm thinking of lowering it. otherwise, i agree with phill, i love it. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

I'm also not very tall 1.65m and I've had a deauville for 1 year and I'm over 50. After 2 falls at l\'arret (in duet) I got used to put both feet on the ground at l\'arret even when I'm alone and since 6 months everything is OK. Technique or experience, I don't know but it works now. I've also completely loosened the rear suspension, which has the effect of lowering the bike, especially when riding a duo. What's more, it doesn't change the bike's behavior much with my riding style, which seems normal to me.
Apart from that, it's a great bike and I'm feeling better and better on it (100 km a day).
I hope I've been of some help.

i've had mine for 7 years, bought new and 60000km to date
review: excellent bike, but heavy in town and at low speed, especially for small people (I'm 1m70).
otherwise, on roads and freeways, very good protection.
no mechanical problems, runs very well.
Good fuel consumption (5.2/100) on city ring roads at rush hour
on the other hand, maintenance at Honda costs an arm and a leg... it's a plus for resale, but at what price? Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation
I had the same problem.
I had a lowering kit installed to have both feet flat.
Be careful, you have to reduce the stand.
It is much straighter and during a motorcycle outing in a parking lot after a gust of wind, it ended up on the ground
s\'est retrouvé à terre côté droit.!!!!!!
Best regards. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
what can I say after changing a pair of tires
had the cooling and braking circuits changed and covered some 8000 KM
good behavior in town and on the road in duo and solo, I'm delighted, although I'm aware that for speed freaks
it doesn't do the job.
economical and practical, I'd recommend it to long-distance motorists and travelers Rating : 5/5 Respond to FREDEJOSE
i've just bought a 2008 dov 700 to replace my old 1996 GTR 1000 with 94,000 kms and I'm pleasantly surprised by how easy this machine is to ride. Sunday ride in duo in the Vosges, 350 kms of small roads, passes and always as much pleasure.
What's more, I didn't need to stop to refuel, as when I got to Nancy, I still had 5 liters of fuel left, making a good 4 liters per cent. This was nothing out of the ordinary, since the BM 1200 GS that accompanied me only consumed 4.6 litres per 100 km. So my first impression of this bike was quite satisfactory: safe, economical, light and easy compared with my GTR. Personally, I'd have preferred to have 10 more hp, as I'm 1.85 m tall and weigh 95 kgs! but if I lose 10 kgs, it'll be perfect for the bike and myself!
To sum up and for those who want to make up their mind, I think it's an excellent everyday bike, maybe even one of the best I've had since 1973 when I caught the bug.
Voili-voilou, bonne route à tous

In terms of price and quality, it's up there with the competition, which has so far been unable to match it.

Like all bikes, you'd like to have more in the throttle, but this is a mini GT with a price/performance ratio unmatched in its category of motorcycle with a universal joint
One minor drawback is the noise of a large scooter at low speeds, but after 20km/h it becomes acceptable. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Serge
After several tries with no result, I checked and changed the spark plugs and suppressors, but still nothing, the starter turns, but no spark on the spark plugs
So I'm drying up and this will probably end up in the garage
Too bad, because otherwise, it's a great bike! Rating : 4/5 Respond to Deauville refus

robust, economical...what more could you ask for (an engine with a little more torque)

Not as lazy as all that, nor as ridiculous as some supposedly much sportier bikes. And it's great for two! Big cases, hand deflectors, sabot, black, low fuel consumption. Don't laugh, this is a real motorcycle, not a big scooter with a gearbox. Thanks to the Honda de Quimper workshop, this one deserves to exist! V to all. Rating : 5/5 Respond to philippe
Well, I admit that it lacks a bit of power
and it has a bit of vibration from 140km/h; but try it and you'd be surprised. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Biker 07
a machine that vibrates, a cruel lack of power, uncomfortable suspension, a bubble in the high position that's too tight for those over 1.85m tall, and a frightening swerving motion with the top case. What a difference with my TDM 900; another world. Rating : 5/5 Respond to sevy

i switched from the Deauville 650 to the Pan 1300 in july 2005 to get an ABS -
i was very satisfied with my good Deauville, apart from average power (good for radar), the lack of foot protection (I had made some myself) and above all the absence of ABS
i'm very happy with my Pan, but you can't ride with peace of mind with all the image boxes they stick everywhere, the Deauville 700 would have been perfect for me, but I'd have to go back to it after the Pan!
fYI: for the Deauville 650, there's a complete lower fairing available at the address opposite

Apparently, the main defects have been corrected
A bit more watts, higher and adjustable bubble, fuel gauge, wider mirrors, and a mouthful... too bad they didn't rework the foot protection, the accessory deflector is going to cost the earth (negotiable at time of purchase?)
Oops, I think I'm going to have a 2004 Deauville for sale! Rating : 5/5 Respond to zavant
The full test drive is a must. With more character
than the old model, and with improved performance, it could be the ideal road bike for medium-displacement riders. Rating : 5/5 Respond to BIGBOSS
