presentation of the GT 125 2011

a handsome little roadster powered by a V-twin... The Koreans go wild. Sprinkle in a few handfuls of mimicry powder and you'd be forgiven for wondering if you weren't looking at a 2 1/2. And with good reason: the Comet 125 has the same frame as the 250, and above it, also very similar, is the 650. In 2004, the adoption of a bigger headlamp gives it even more poise. 2010 brings more changes: a small headlamp cowling gives a sporty look; a good passenger handle makes its appearance; the frame, rims and swingarm are painted black; as for the dashboard, it comes directly from the GT 125 R sports declination.

the engine is an air- and oil-cooled twin-cylinder developing around 15 hp. Performance-wise, below 7,000 rpm, the mill feels hollow, but after that, it does its bit despite the machine's weight (150 kg unladen). Top speed is sufficient, estimated at 120km/h. The aesthetics are very well thought-out, and at first glance the bike doesn't look like it belongs in the 125 class. It has a 17-liter fuel tank, making it ideal for long rides. Weak points: spare parts take a long time to arrive, the original rear tire doesn't grip too well and the chrome parts rust very quickly. As for the engine, it really lacks the power to pull the weight of this machine. Strengths: aesthetics, size and very powerful braking. On the downside, the €4,000 price tag was a bit hard to digest. But the big promotion in 2011, at less than 3,000 euros, makes it much more attractive.

Very nice bike, pleasant and easy to handle, good quality, but it's a pity it hasn't aged well, on the other hand there's a problem finding rider bags, that's a big problem Rating : 5/5

French Model 2011
After 25 years off the bike, I bought this 125 to get back into the swing of things before moving on to the big cube. Its looks and comfort won me over. In the same segment, there are single-cylinders that are just as beautiful, but .......mono cylinders !!!! On the GT 125, you absolutely have to give it a little tune-up like a 1-tooth sprocket, improve the intake, fit an improved pot, and then you've got a different machine. Sufficient top speed (approx. 115 kph) and rather peppy performance make it the ideal machine for everyone. The position is great and less tiring than on its sister, the GTR. well, that's my personal opinion. Rating : 5/5
