presentation of the 999 Sport Scout Sixty 2026
The Scout Sixty range is slowly following in the footsteps of the 1250 Scout, offering the same exhilaration with fewer degrees of difficulty. After the Bobber and Classic, the little Scout is now available in Sport format. Identical trunk, tactical approach, specific desire, but how does it cope with being more basic?
With a bad-street attitude
The Sport uses the Bobber as a base, with its short mudguards, minimalist styling and solo saddle. It then adds a small fork head for a minimum of protection but above all style. A little more travel on the rear suspension (from 51 mm to 76 mm), a larger front wheel (19 inches), 6 kg more weight, and a singularly more engaged riding position. Mind you, at Indian, Sport is not synonymous with bracelets or cafe-racers; rather, it's a posture and control focused on comfort... the American way.
Once primed, the "little" Sport Scout is a veritable copy-paste of the big one. Apart from the displacement, there are just a few tiny details that set them apart... except for one, the one in your paw. The handlebars end up even higher than those of the 1250. With another notable distinction. It's a one-piece ape-hanger, whereas the handlebars on the big sister are attached to remarkable machined risers; definitely classier. But the differences are there to help bring the price down. This also entails the migration of the handlebar-end mirrors to a more common position, the unique choice of colors and less power.

A little less to offer more
The Sixty makes 251 cm3 and 9 horsepower. Not a huge difference in watts. Torque is the most affected, with 21 Nm less. You'll also have to deal with one less gear in the gearbox. The rider will have to be less greedy, more accommodating with this twin. Logical, since the aim is not to step on the toes of the higher segment. However, with 85 hp and almost 9 mkg (87 Nm), the Sixty already has plenty to offer.
And a little more than that. It comes standard with the Limited finish, while the other Sixty models offer it as an option. As a result, the price is the highest of the siblings, but it allows the Sixty to benefit from three Driving Modes, a USB socket, cruise control and traction control.

TheIndian Sport Scout Sixty and its 999 cm3 are there to engage you in Springfield clubbing with less intimidation than the superior Scout. Almost an initiator of the genre, willingly open to A2s and with a certain notion of accessibility thanks to its price (from the manufacturer), its very low seat and its uncluttered side to give free rein to customization.
This third string on the guitar is certainly not the last. With Indian's clone strategy, we could well see a Super Scout Sixty and a Sport Scout RT Sixty appear in the next few years. The polygeny would thus be complete, and the range perhaps too plethoric.
