presentation of the 1890 Chieftain Elite 2020
After a short absence in 2019, the Chieftain Elite is back. Stronger and as luxurious as ever, this Indian pushes the range under the sparkle of beautiful dresses, suits and liquor-laden receptions. It has taken the opportunity to change its suitcases, reline its face in the image of other Indian baggers, adopt 'Precision Machined Elite' rims, boost the 'Ride Command' with a beefier processor and grab the new-generation 'Thunder Stroke' engine.
As if to provoke its historic competitor, the emblematic American manufacturer has caught the luxury fever. Is it just a case of teasing Milwaukee in the CVO arena?
Whatever the case, this posh version of the bagger ups the ante and the taste for opulence. This special Elite series moves it into the premium + clan.
it makes a statement from the outset. In addition to its true-to-America size, the Chieftain Elite impresses with its extensive paintwork. A desire to make the bike unique, as every step is carried out by hand - 25 hours of work for the decoration alone. A strong impression of quality emanates from the whole, while allowing the enormous engine to shine through. The style and mechanics explode before the eyes, complementary and detached at the same time. To live up to its status as a heavyweight tourer, it's thoughtful about comfort, with cruise control, keyless start, tire pressure monitoring system, Flare windscreen and remote luggage lock, among others. It's a pity, though, that it has lost its passenger footboards and its handsome, thickly-stitched saddle.

Almost enough to forget the sound of the majestic Thunderstroke twin? Not quite. Before talking about its 2020 update, let's recall its 2017 update, when it gained an extra 15 hp and more than a mkg. This time, it's 79 cm3 more in the cylinders, for a total of 1890 cm3 or 116 ci - hence its first name. Filled with metal and Americanism, it passes the 17 mkg mark. The Chieftain's more premium appearance is enhanced by red-painted rocker rods, special medallions and a large, evocative '116' on the air filter.
Produced in a limited series, the American model wants to be desired. This Chieftain Elite is a real looker, both in terms of its engine and its looks!
