presentation of the Ninja 1100 SX SE 2025
Sport-touring still manages to offer us some fine machines, fighting for survival against the omnipotent trail bikes. In the small, almost confidential sector of fast tourers, the Kawasaki Ninja SX is the best performer.
Initially a Z 1000 SX, then a Ninja 1000 SX, it is now presented as an 1100, with an engine that is more generous in displacement, torque and availability, but less powerful. For the first time, it's available in a more upscale version. Kawa has taken to calling this kind of version SE.
Enthusiasts will be delighted. The first distinguishing feature is style. The Special Editon comes in an emerald hue to great effect. The other color is dark, like that of the standard version.
Now for the most interesting part. As the ride promises to be energetic, it's best to ensure that it's dynamic and behaves appropriately. The Ninja 1100 SX SE improves its rigor with Brembo M432 brake calipers, aviation hoses and a master cylinder also bearing the Italian manufacturer's name. Then it's the rear axle that gets a smile with the installation of an Öhlins S46 shock absorber. The Swedish manufacturer's presence is always a guarantee of enhanced ride quality.
The SE is also thinking about the first chills of cold weather, with heated grips fitted as standard. All this completes the elements that the Ninja has added with its new onze-cent name. These include a USB-C socket on the handlebars, shifter activation from 1500rpm, the evolution of the Rideology app (with voice command), a larger rear brake disc, Bridge' S23s instead of S22s, longer last two gear ratios and 56cm3 more in its 4-cylinder.
The evolution of this engine brings surprising results. More watts in the Versys 1100, less in the Ninja. In fact, the two protagonists now develop almost the same power each. 135 on the trail bike, 136 on the sport-GT. The two extra cubage thimbles, optimized intake and a few tweaks have boosted torque by 0.2 mkg, with the primary aim of boosting it throughout the rev range.

Between two refuelling points, the rider can enjoy the fast curves, then the on-board equipment: adjustable bubble (4 positions), cruise control, 4.3" TFT screen, lashing points for suitcases, cornering ABS, traction control, 4 driving modes, anti-dribble clutch, KCMF electronic cornering management. Unlike other SE models such as the Z H2, Versys or H2 SX, the Ninja does not benefit from semi-active suspension.
SE or not? A dose of premium or not? With its Ninja 1100 SX duo, Kawasaki offers an attractive roadster with a slightly sharper version. The name of certain equipment manufacturers is sometimes enough to win you more sympathy...
