presentation of the VN 1700 Light Tourer 2011
when big custom enthusiasts wanted Kawasaki and travel, they had a choice between the VN 1700 Tourer, the Voyager, and the Voyager Custom. However, a cruiser with a more vintage feel was needed to complete the range. For those wishing to bring luggage with a 1700 Classic, here's the Light Tourer version. The adoption of small leather saddlebags means you can keep the two superimposed exhausts and take along two 15-liter loads for the weekend. A large, height-adjustable intake and small deflectors on the forks provide additional protection for the rider. With this accessory pack, its big 1700 cm twin-cylinder engine and 13.7 mkg of torque at just 2,750 rpm, the VN 1700 Light Tourer stands in direct opposition to Harley-Davidson's Softail Heritage. Weighing 30 kilos less than the 1700 Tourer and featuring a lighter travel kit, it fully deserves its Light designation. However, you'll have to make do without some of the standard Tourer equipment, such as cruise control, seat backrest and passenger footrests.
