Motorcycle specifications KawasakiZX-6 R 636 30ème anniversaire 2015 From one Ninja to another
presentation of the ZX-6 R 636 30ème anniversaire 2015
why 30 years? Because it was in 1984 that the GPZ 900 R entered the motorcycle world, marketed in the USA under the name Ninja. Three decades later, a certain ZX-10R keeps the torch alive as never before. Appearing in mid-2014 to continue the sport in 2015, the big sports bike will be emblazoned with the aura of the thirtieth anniversary commemorations, just like its little sister, the 636 ZX-6R.
there aren't many special series among Akashi's sports bikes. All the more reason to appreciate the special features of this one. With its green corset, black suspenders and white shoulders, the 30th Anniversary ZX-6R can be identified by its special paint scheme. Riders will appreciate the green anodized caps on the BPF Showa fork. More discreetly, the shock absorber spring is also covered in Kawa's signature color. A fine 'Ninja 30th Anniversary' sticker completes the ensemble
Beautiful, efficient and now emblazoned with Ninja history, the 636 ZX-6R maintains a long tradition of performance. In France, the 636 will only be distributed in this color.
genesis:
the 636 has long assisted the ZX-6R in the pursuit of performance, electronically assisted for the former, pure sport for the latter. Barely different, yet more so
of course, what will have struck you most is not this upgrading of the silhouette, but that incongruous number: 636.
let's go back almost 15 years. In 2002, Kawasaki replaced its ZX-6 R with a 636 cm3 version. The result was more trunk space, greater availability, and smoother power delivery for greater on-road enjoyment. And in 2013, it's the same recipe.
The impetuous 4-cylinder gains 37 cm3 by increasing piston stroke. With this extra explosion volume, the ZX-6R offers more low- and mid-range torque, better acceleration, and a more exploitable engine character - a plus for road use of the machine.
the ZX-636 R takes a quantum leap forward in terms of driver assistance. While it has not borrowed the 10R's plastic, it has not hesitated to steal much of its electronics. With this opus of the 600 sports bike, you'll be able to open up in all directions and brake like a hymosed asshole. Feel like welding the handlebars? The 3-mode KTRC traction control system, combined with 2 map selections, will keep an eye on traction and slippage. Braking hard as you approach? KIBS anti-lock braking assist you. This "intelligence by Kawa" ABS helps prevent rear wheel lift during hard braking, and takes into account the effect of counter-torque during downshifts.
it's "wiser" on the chassis side. By which we mean that it hasn't undergone any significant overhaul. The aluminum perimeter frame and large-section swingarm have been carried over from the previous version. Precise equipment that's hard to fault. Only the fork has changed: the latest generation from Showa, combining SFF (damping on one fork, hydraulic on the other) and BPF (Big Piston) technologies.
The 636 Ninja is now a classic, but still very much appreciated, and is equipped with high-quality sporty peripherals: fCC anti-dribble clutch, 4-piston radial brake calipers gripping petal discs, complete and compact instrument panel (it doesn't change, except for the removal of the green or red coloring of the engine operating ranges), dual-throttle injection and a boiler that loves revs.
with this 636 ZX-6R, Kawasaki is clearly aiming for greater everyday enjoyment than the competition. But with its displacement barring it from competition (600cc max for the Supersport class), how will the Akashi-based manufacturer compete on the racetrack?
