presentation of the NINJA H2 Carbon 2018

The H2 is not just a demonstration of Kawasaki's technological know-how. It's also an unusual, furious machine, capable of rolling your eyes back into your sockets when the turbine starts up. The road test was a moment when insanity lurked around every bend. In 2017, it benefited from certain improvements and this Carbon limited series. A diva's whim she can afford.

as its name suggests, the H2 Carbon is enriched with carbon fiber. A noble material used for the fork head. All the more to make it stand out from the crowd. And with its green-painted frame, it's a visual match for its big sister, the H2R. In the same vein, it's covered in the same contrasting mirror or dark paint (Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black), depending on exposure to light.
There won't be something for everyone. Only 100 Kawasaki H2 Carbon models will be produced. And all will be numbered, in a rather special way. For once, the serial number will not be engraved on a plate attached to the fork crown or fuel tank, but on the "Supercharged" cover affixed to the right-hand compressor. A way of underlining the exceptional nature of this engine.

since 2017, all H2s have been improving on several fronts. Keen observers will have noticed a touch of gold under the rear end. And the Öhlins logo is a sure sign of quality. The Kawa missile gains a Swedish TTX36 shock absorber, superior in quality to the original. More rigorous, easier to adjust and more stable, it offers 22-position adjustable compression and rebound damping.
On the regulatory front, we had to master the transition to Euro4. After the compulsory retro-reflectors, the staff set about managing the exhaust system. Larger catalytic converters, a redesigned internal structure for the silencer and a new manifold configuration enabled us to comply with the standards.
Anecdotally, but reflecting our attention to detail, the brake and clutch levers are shorter and perforated. This is to avoid any pressure on them at high speed.

New functions have been added to the dashboard. You can now see the angle of inclination of the H2, which can also be recorded. It's a real eye-opener. If the display can do this, then it stands to reason that... a multi-axis inertial unit has been installed. Bingo. With Bosch's IMU, the H2 can improve the response of its electronics. In addition to the evolution of ABS, which becomes active when cornering, the unit also enables KTRC traction control to be retroactive, in addition to already being predictive. All electronic aids become more precise and efficient.
On a different note, but still to assist the rider, the shifter now acts on both upshifts and downshifts.

there was no question of the Kawasaki H2 going down in motorcycle history. Its 200 hp are nothing like those of a hypersport. And its supercharger already sets it apart from the competition. When you look at it, or for those lucky enough to ride it, it never seems to stop. Comforted in its status, it keeps up with the times, improving dynamically and offering itself here with more cachet, more temptation. You'll need a bit more credit to afford it. But given the already hefty price of the base version, an extension for the Carbon would be almost anecdotal.
