presentation of the VERSYS 1000 SE Tourer 2019
We've been around this Versys 1000 SE twice, ten times, lots of times, and we've always come to the same conclusion. It feels like it's lacking something to allow you to travel serenely.
Breath? No, the 4-cylinder engine derived from the Z 1000 is not lacking (although it's not as powerful as the segment's monsters). Comfort? Not at all, with its pilot-operated suspension, large windscreen, heated grips and cruise control? Temperament? Modular with 4 driving modes. Safety? With cornering ABS, traction control and all the electronics, there's really nothing to worry about.
no, what's lacking is enough space to store all the gear for overnight stays and picnics. That's where the Tourer pack comes in to fill the gap that's been obsessing me since the start of this service. It begins with two 27-liter zipped bags, cut to the shape of the suitcases and anchored to the Versys' original brackets. Each hold holds 28 liters. So, yes, the suitcase interiors take up a bit of space, but they allow you to pack exactly what you need.
When you're traveling, there are plenty of opportunities for your belongings to slip onto the tank. Keys, smartphone, coins, hammer, jacket zipper... These are just a few of the little threats that the self-adhesive gel tank protector will take care of.
If you're still short of space, the Versys SE also comes in a Grand Tourer version with a high-capacity top-case.
