Motorcycle specifications KTM890 Adventure 2024 To the paths of experience

presentation of the 890 Adventure 2024
Two years as a 790; then two more as an 890; the mid-size Adventure doesn't stay with one definition for long before moving on to another. Four seasons after its birth, here it is in a new version, still in the 890 but extensively reworked. Mattighofen has moved on to something a little more plush and road-oriented, without sacrificing its willingness to take on the trails.
The 890 Adventure phase II has not allowed itself to be dragged into a gym like many of its friends, but into fitness. It has worked its shoulders to lengthen them, in a large movement linking the cheeks, the saddle and the bottom of the radiator. These large lateral triangles give her more presence, but also a more academic design flexibility. A more glamorous silhouette, a little like when the 990 Adventure was transformed into the 1190.
Protection is an important point, with a higher windshield, much wider at the base, and a vent to limit turbulence. Comfort is also enhanced by a 10 mm thicker seat. A new optional lowering kit reduces the minimum seat height to 825 mm.
As far as the legs are concerned, the Adventure still benefits from the good biass of the low-slung fuel tank. Its width protects the lower limbs, and the design lowers the center of gravity. On this new-generation 890 Adv', the aluminum engine cowling extends well beyond the fuel pockets.
Pirelli Scorpion STR tires, more off-road-oriented than previous Avon Trailrider models, accentuate the Katoche's off-road appeal. The chassis companions are still the 21" and 18" spoked wheels, steel trellis frame, J.Juan brakes and WP Apex suspension - the R version has the more advanced Xplor.
There's a real bonus with the 890 Adventure II, however, with a front axle that gains a series of adjustments. On the old model, only the monoshock could be adjusted. This time, each fork arm has a small knob for adjusting either rebound or compression. The 43 mm inverted fork retains its 200 mm travel, as does the rear.
With 105 horsepower at its disposal, the twin-cylinder LC8c has never been short of power. A joyful, invigorating engine, sometimes a little dry, but we don't expect sugar and fat from a Katoche. More than 10 mkg are available, and watts as needed without ever running out or being overwhelmed.
From now on, no L version is planned to make it accessible to A2 license holders. The 790 Adventure (the return) will take on this task, as it is less powerful and complies with the regulations for young riders.
In the event of withdrawal from this Demo pack, the 890 Adventure still features cornering ABS, reactive traction control in curves, anti-wheeling and 3 riding modes (Street - Rain - Off-road).
Finally, the Adventure doesn't forget the modern need to be connected with its KTMConnect app (optional). It makes it even easier to display Turn-by-Turn+ navigation instructions, listen to music and take calls. New, drivers can now list their 10 favorite calls based on the last call or from a list of favorites. Turn-by-Turn+ navigation allows even greater customization of navigation details en route, from the motorcycle's TFT menu, without having to stop and search for your mobile device. USB and 12V sockets are ideal for mobile devices.
Adventure! A word that resonates everywhere! Enlightened by the need to escape, praised by brands, declined under multiple identities, this objective abounds in the market and hope. KTM brilliantly nurtures the idea, with a dozen or so models in this category. The 890 Adventure is certainly the best compromise, but its performance pays for itself.
