The Speed Triple is one of the models that forged Triumph's modern image. Derived from the sporty Daytona, the “Speed” is considered by many to be the first streetfighter. The bike was introduced in 1994 with a 3-cylinder 900. But it was in 1997, with the T509, that the Speed gained notoriety, with its famous, particularly nasty double optics and single-arm design. The vindictive British roadster has evolved considerably to become a 180-hp beast, very efficient on the road (and even on the track), often judged as the best in its class.
