presentation of the 955i SPEED TRIPLE 1999

the Speed Triple is one mean-looking machine. A hardcore roadster that doesn't pull any punches. It's aggressive to a fault, even disturbing. Whether you're horrified or charmed, it's impossible to remain impassive in the face of such a beast. And underneath all that scruffiness lies Triumph's Daytona sports bike. Stripped of its fairing and grafted with a devastating dual headlamp, the hypersport is transformed into one hell of a roadster.

And there's no shortage of that! The fuel-injected 3-cylinder engine is sufficiently flexible, but above all particularly vigorous. Forget tea and butter - this is leather, rock and watts! Take it up to the towers to dredge the red zone, it loves it. The tubular frame, with its distinctive Triumph design, makes it easy to keep up the spirit. The T 595 's single-sided frame and magnificent rim are also present. Braking is excellent, except from the rear - a disaster. You'll also have to invest in physio sessions, as the suspension is really hard. You wanted a real machine with a devilish temperament? You're in for a treat. To make matters worse, the bike handles like a real sports bike, with the added agility of raised handlebars. An endearing, totally unreasonable rogue's bike. Who would want to be with such a machine?

French Pic909 Model 2001
In my life I've been lucky enough to own a lot of motorcycles...even much more expensive, more powerful ones, but this one crushes them...I'm completely in love 😠with this wheel!!! perfect chassis, suspension that's just right..surgical precision in corners...the power is always there on this big tri-cylinder...as already said in the description, the steering angle isn't great, but anyway, it's easy to forget small deflections like this every time you open the gas! Hi everyone
Sometimes my 955 runs on 2 cylinders when I start it up, but it switches to 3 if I push it up the revs
What's the problem?

Hello,

Start by cleaning the electrical contacts between the coil and the spark plug. Brush the spark plugs, or better, change them.
Check that the threads between the spark plug and the cylinder are clean.

you should feel better afterwards, it could be linked to an age-related ignition problem.

cdlt,

super machine, nothing to complain about: watts of power, very good roadholding, rear brake weak but just enough to stabilize, great mouth, very good position and good comfort (at standstill), suspensions really uncomfortable on bumpy roads
in short, a very lively and efficient machine!

a marvel!!! tried it today: in-croy-yable..
engine with inexhaustible torque, it must be muscular over distance
The only hitch is the braking, which you have to really insist on for it to start working.

i've done sporty (r6), I've done supermot (klxr) I've done road (zzr600), but now I'm ecstatic (demonic angel...) with my 2001 blue speed.for me the most beautiful version in terms of bodywork, it's a bit of a dragster. I won't be able to part with it, apart from the brakes, it's perfect! Rating : 5/5

Finally!!! I got a Speed mod.2000, a marvel full of faults, clutch, zero turning radius, discomfort, no rear brake but.......mais.........the best and most endearing motorcycle I've ever owned (I'm on my 18th bike), an incredible face that's impossible to confuse with any other, surgical road holding (on good surfaces), a fabulous engine and that magical noise!!!! magical, especially with Triumph's racing line, I get shivers just thinking about it, and despite everything, I sold this marvel, the very next day I knew I'd made a mistake, since then I've only dreamed of Speed, but the 2003 models didn't thrill me in the same way, on the other hand...it's a ball, it'll be a 2005 Speed or it'll be nothing.
