This machine reinterprets the iconic design of the Type 1 with a more compact, assertive, and contemporary personality.

A refreshed and refined aesthetic

The Type 1 Series 3 features the spectacular single-seater “tapecul,” entirely machined from solid blocks and finished by hand, as seen in the Quintescence.
A two-seater variant is available as an option, true to the bespoke philosophy dear to Midual.

The headlight and turn signals feature a brand-new, highly refined design, while hand-painted trim now adorns the monocoque.
The trim panels feature an enhanced finish, accentuating the contrasts in materials and reflections.

These updates transform the silhouette of the Type 1, making it sleeker, more expressive, and resolutely modern, while retaining the artisanal precision and mechanical purity that define the Midual signature.

An exceptional design: the Midual monocoque

A true symbol of the brand, the Type 1’s aluminum monocoque remains one of the most daring pieces ever created in the world of motorcycles.

It combines the functions of the frame, fuel tank, and bodywork into a single element—a technical feat considered by experts to be a mechanical “grand complication.”
The result of 7,000 hours of design work and protected by two international patents, the monocoque is produced through an extremely complex casting process:
- 15 core boxes are used to create a 1,700 kg sand mold;
- The casting of 80 kg of aluminum alloy takes 45 seconds;
- After casting, the mold is destroyed, and the raw part is deburred, ground, machined, and polished by hand, step by step;
- The result: a final body weighing 24 kg, a true metal sculpture.

Each monocoque requires several hundred hours of work before achieving the perfection expected of a Midual.

A one-of-a-kind engine: the Midual flat-twin

Beneath its polished aluminum body, the Type 1 Series 3 retains the exceptional 1,036 cc flat-twin engine, banked at 25° and positioned in the direction of travel.
This architecture, patented by Midual, is a world exclusive.
It gives the motorcycle exceptional flexibility, generous low-end torque, and low inertia, ensuring smooth, vibration-free handling.
Developed entirely in-house, the engine has been tested over more than 100,000 km.
Powerful, balanced, and lively, it embodies the Midual philosophy: engineering in the service of sensation.

A motorcycle of art and utility

Although unanimously regarded as a work of mechanical art, the Midual Type 1 remains a genuine road machine.
The first two units produced have exceeded 100,000 km, demonstrating the reliability of a design built to last.

All mechanical components are hand-assembled, with each motorcycle undergoing meticulous inspection, a dynamometer test, and a 300-kilometer test ride before delivery.

Every owner benefits from maintenance provided directly at the factory by the technicians who built their machine, as well as a four-year warranty.
