presentation of the 1200 MILANO Limited Edition 2018
Moto-Morini delves into its history to bring us a new, somewhat sanguine roadster. With its elaborate fuel tank and eye-catching red color scheme, Moto-Morini has rescued its 1972 3 and 1/2 350 GT from oblivion to create the 1200 MILANO. A beautiful object, clearly distinguishable from its Corsaro ZZ cousin. By design? Not only in design. The shapes are there to arouse curiosity, but the technology goes further.
The Morini 1200 Milano is equipped with a tubular steel trellis frame very similar to that of the Corsaro, but with revised geometry. The all-new swingarm is also of the tubular trellis type. Superb, in the style of some Bimotas. The front end is serious Italian, as always, with an inverted fork finished with Brembo 4-piston radial calipers. Note the short mudguard mounted on clearly designed plates, the large lower fork crown with 6 clamps, the tapered rear end covered by a leather and alcantara seat, the MV-Agusta Brutale-style bevelled mufflers, the eccentric wheel adjustment and the perforated metal strip on the tank. Morini clearly wants to flatter the owner.
As with the Corsaro ZZ, the Milano provides information via a 5-inch TFT screen. Here, it has its own graphics. The engine comes from the same source. A big 1187 cm3 twin, generous in feel, which should deliver 116 horsepower. Pay close attention to the exhaust pipes, which are very close to the crankcases for a striking effect.
A beautiful machine sure to attract enthusiasts. A production run of just 30 units already provides an extra dose of distinctiveness. With a special Moto-Morini helmet and jacket as a gift of propriety.
