presentation of the V 100 Mandello S 2023

The V100 Mandello is a Guzzi event. For its looks, for its technology, for its more modern positioning than the manufacturer's classic image? A bit of all of the above, but above all because of its engine. It's a brand-new, new-generation twin, a whole new dimension for the brand's intrinsic architecture.

The Italian block is faithful to the raised, lateral arrangement of the cylinders. But the cylinders have been rotated by 90°, the intake and exhaust systems have been completely rearranged, and the engine has been fitted with 2 ACT and 4 valves in each cranium... and the insolence continues with liquid cooling. Cleaner, more compact and more muscular, this 1043 cm3 is Guzzi's future, enabling the Mandello to offer 115 hp and 10.7 mkg.

This bike is a complete departure from the "Classic" products in the range. It's a road bike with a crossover edge, ready to take on new territories. The top-of-the-range "S" version is the first Guzzi equipped with semi-active suspension. Plus Öhlins. The Swedish package is supervised by the Driving Modes, which set the dynamic behavior theme. Next, the Smart EC 2.0 electronic control unit adapts settings in real time according to the road and the mood on board.
Heated grips, a shifter and the M-G-MIA multimedia system (Bluetooth, smartphone pairing, call and music management, GPS functions, etc.) enhance the content.

New features on the Mandello (standard and S) include small deflectors on the sides of the fuel tank. These have nothing to do with sporty winglets, which are supposed to press the front end to the ground. Here, the appendages pivot automatically according to speed and riding style, to reduce air pressure on the rider. The rider can also vary the height of the bubble electrically. In addition to electronics, this bike also features active aerodynamics

Moto-Guzzi V 100 Mandello Centenario chips and circuits are also present, with a 5-inch color TFT screen, an inertial unit for ABS, traction control and angle-responsive additional lighting, cruise control and 4 riding modes (Travel - Road - Sport - Rain). Each determines suspension behavior, a level for Traction Control (4), another for engine braking (3) and then sets the tempo for the engine with one of the 3 available mappings.

This Mandello is a fine Guzzi, with the most powerful production engine ever offered by the manufacturer - with the exception of the exclusive MGS-01 Corsa- a refreshing identity, quality suspension and something new at every level.

moto-Guzzi V100 Mandello S. riding modes:

- Tourism : engine brake intervention (MGFM) is very present, to facilitate deceleration with the throttle closed only; acceleration level (MGCM) is progressive (level 2 out of 3); traction control (MGCT) is at the third level out of four. When this mode is selected, the side deflectors open fully above the 70 km/h threshold (the threshold can be set differently). The V100 Mandello S Smart EC 2.0 suspension configuration is set to level 2 (comfort).

- Pioggia (Rain): all electronic interventions are adjusted to better cope with difficult weather situations. Engine braking is very present; power management is at its gentlest (level 3 out of 3); Traction Control is at the highest level for total acceleration safety. In this mode, the side deflectors always remain open to maximize water protection at any speed. The V100 Mandello S Smart EC 2.0 suspension configuration is set to level 2 (comfort).

- Road : engine braking is very present: engine mapping is progressive (level 2 out of 3); traction control is at level 2 out of 4. In this mode, the side deflectors remain closed, but the driver can decide to open them at a certain speed. The Smart EC 2.0 suspension configuration on the V100 Mandello S is set to level 1 (Dynamic).

- Sport : electronic settings are fine-tuned to ensure the best possible sporty driving experience. Engine braking is minimal; engine management is more direct and sporty (level 1 in 3); traction control is the least intrusive (first level out of four). In this mode, the side deflectors remain closed, but the driver can decide to open them at a certain speed. The Smart EC 2.0 suspension configuration on the V100 Mandello S is set to level 1 (Dynamic).

I agree with Dorane, how do you adjust the idle speed, which is too fast? Rating : 4/5

French Model 2023
i've owned a Mandello for 2 years, 7000 km; I've appreciated the aesthetics and the engine character and I don't regret my purchase; however, I've noted some negative points: the incomprehensible absence of a warning; a fuel gauge and headlight indicator made in spite of common sense; an anemic rear brake; an overly fast and soulful idle; an unprotective original bubble; a rear suspension that didn't blow me away, a bit stiff even at minimum... here you go.. Rating : 4/5
French Manu Model 2025
Fewer service calls, a lower price and above all reliability so as not to have to be repaired every 500km by workshops overwhelmed by events Rating : 4/5

What about reliability? thanks benoit Rating : 5/5
French Marco Model 2024
There's a discrepancy between the weight and the volume of the tank: if the dry weight is 212kg, it can't be 233kg TPF when the tank is 17L. Rating : 4/5
But depending on the manufacturer, the difference in weight doesn't just concern fuel. Engine oil, batteries and even coolant are also sometimes included. There was some speculation that tire weights were being taken out of the equation, resulting in crazy dry weight figures for certain models. Rating : 5/5
