presentation of the F3 800 Competizione 2025
3rd in the manufacturers' standings in the latest World Supersport championship, MV Agusta has plenty to be proud of. The "small" firm from Varese has the luxury of leaving Triumph, Kawasaki and Honda behind. No doubt to celebrate, MV Agusta presents the F3 Competizione. This bullet of war delivers 160 hp for just 178 kg!
a better F3 RR
MV style is really something! As the F3 RR was already well and truly born, the design office was content to sublimate the brand's little sports bike. MV Agusta says it drew inspiration for the F3 Competizione from the F4 Claudio, choosing colors such as Satin Metallic Carbon Black, Satin Intense Silver and Gold, and making extensive use of carbon fiber. The seat is covered in Alcantara (like the RR). Another touch of exclusivity is the numbered plate (XXX/300) on the new CNC-machined steering fork, because, yes, the bike is only available in 300 units worldwide.
Another killer detail, and I'm going to talk about it in the design section even though I could have gone into it in the technical section, is that to reduce weight, this F3 Competizione is fitted with carbon wheels. Immediate retinal fracture! Another point where you could spend hours looking at the details is the fork tees. The machining is splendid, and the part is light, again to help reduce weight.
Finally, and to finish off this breathtaking plastic, the forged carbon fairing fins are also magnificent. Firstly, for their integration, which avoids overly conspicuous aero appendages as in MotoGP, and secondly for the quality of the carbon used. These fins offer 8 kilos of aero support at 240 km/h on the front.
Above the controls, the rider's eyes will find all the necessary information on the 5.5-inch TFT color display. This screen can be connected (via Bluetooth) to your smartphone's MV Ride app, which allows you to record trips, configure the bike, activate step-by-step navigation and many other functions.
top-of-the-range Ohlins and Brembo Stylema: the best of the best!
What distinguishes the F3 Competizione from the RR version is above all the optimizations made to the chassis. While the frame remains a combination of a tubular steel trellis for the upper section and two aluminum plates for the lower section, MV Agusta has picked up some heavyweight stuff from Ohlins. The 43 mm NIX30 fork features TiN-coated tubes. The front drivetrain, already not lazy, is transformed into a real scalpel on the Italian beauty. Of course, this fork is fully customizable in terms of hydraulic (compression and rebound) and mechanical (spring preload) settings. The rear suspension is no less spoiled, receiving the TTX 36 shock absorber, fully adjustable with twin-tube technology and an external piggyback reservoir. Also from Ohlins, the steering damper can be adjusted to 19 positions to lock the steering more or less, allowing you to concentrate solely on trajectories. The complete Öhlins suspension system reduces weight by 1 kg compared to the F3 RR's standard suspension.

The braking system is entrusted to another leading brand: Brembo. The F3 Competizione gets the full kit, with 320 mm-diameter front discs fitted with radial-mount Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers. The rear brake features a 220 mm-diameter disc.
This particularly effective braking system is backed up by ABS. Brake Assist operates in two modes, Sport and Race, and is also active at an angle. In Sport mode, ABS is active on both front and rear wheels, and cornering efficiency and rear wheel lift reduction are activated. In Race mode, ABS is active only at the front, cornering efficiency is deactivated and rear wheel lift reduction is set to be less intrusive. ABS can only be fully deactivated when the bike is fitted with Akrapovic's dedicated exhaust mapping and used only on the track.
Tires also had to match performance. The F3 Competizione is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa, size 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear. As specified in the design, the wheels (supplied by BST) are made of carbon. As we know, weight savings on unsprung mass have a major impact on performance. Thus equipped, the F3 Competizione will be even more agile and responsive when changing direction. They offer a weight saving of 3 kg compared with the aluminum wheels of the F3 RR.
The same weight savings apply to the standard battery, which has been replaced by a lithium-ion version, saving a further 3 kg.

engine: what a firecracker!
At the heart of the F3 Competizione is MV Agusta's growling 798 cm3 3-cylinder engine, equipped with titanium valves. Compared to the RR, which develops 147 hp, the Competizione version gives the lucky owner no less than 160 hp. This maximum power is obtained at 13,500 rpm. According to MV Agusta, the increase in power is mainly due to the Akrapovic exhaust system (homologated). It's a safe bet that the engineers also had to tweak the fuel injection to get the most out of the engine. Despite the increase in performance, the engine meets Euro 5+ homologation standards. The exhaust system also saves 3 kilos on the scales.
The overall weight reduction is 14 kg compared with the RR version, which translates into a power-to-weight ratio of 0.9 hp/kg.
Another technical change to the powertrain is the new MV Agusta 9-disc anti-dribble clutch. In addition to improved efficiency in extreme conditions, it reduces the effort required to operate the lever by 50%. It is still coupled to the brand's Electronically Assisted shifter. It works equally well when upshifting and downshifting.

The F3 Competizione is equipped with a new ECU linked to a 6-axis IMU, allowing four driving modes (Rain, Sport, Race and Custom). Traction control can be set to 8 levels: 2 for rain, 3 for road and 3 for track. Anti-wheeling will not completely restrict the front wheels if the electronics judge that acceleration is more efficient. In Sport mode, it works on the angle and limits rear-end lift under hard braking. In Race mode, ABS no longer intervenes on the rear wheel, but only on the front at the last moment, and anti-lift is less intrusive. When fitted with the Akrapovic line and its reprogramming, ABS can be completely deactivated.
The F3 Competizione is also equipped with Launch Control which, when combined with the Front Lift Control (FLC) system, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. And if you're worried about your driving license, the F3 Competizione also features cruise control.
As an option, future buyers can also order a racing kit comprising a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust system (not homologated), carbon-fiber exhaust protectors, a CNC-machined fuel filler cap, a fiberglass seat cover and a model-specific motorcycle cover..
