presentation of the Superveloce 800 S Ottantesimo 2026
The skies are looking strangely bright for MV-Agusta. With its ally KTM in turmoil, and not very generous with new products, the Varese-based firm is banking on its heritage to give 2025 some color. Especially its own, to support the tribute it is paying to its 80th anniversary with a series of models: the Ottantesimo.
Small details for the beautiful age
Who better than the SuperVeloce S to hold the banner of a commemoration!?! It's a neo-retro exercise in MV codes and culture. Pronounce EmVi - The machine insists that everyone correctly pronounce the initials of its progenitor by writing it "phonetically Emmevi" on the leather tank belt and fork crown.
This is one of the special features of this special series. It also celebrates the anniversary with a typically MV-Agusta red/grey paintwork finish, rather similar to but more satin-like than that of the standard Superveloce 800, new "Millerighe" wheels with machined spokes, a red alcantara seat, and the MV logo redesigned as before.
This Superveloce 800 S Ottantesimo doesn't come without its sportswear. It comes with a matching seat cover and Arrow exhausts with a more vintage design and marked efficiency. Thanks to these, the 3-cylinder's power is increased from 147 to 153 hp, while the machine's weight is reduced from 197.5 kg to 189.5 kg, excluding fuel.
The engine has been reworked to meet Euro5+ standards without any loss of watts. It also gains a new clutch requiring 50% less lever effort.
Like all machines in the Ottantesimo collection, the SV will be produced in a limited edition of 500 units. Its serial number is engraved on a special plate screwed onto the fork crown. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the bike to perpetuate its pedigree.
While the Superveloce cultivates a retro image, it also pays careful attention to its modernity, taking its cue from the F3 800 - which doesn't get to celebrate its 80th birthday, but is superformed with a radical "Competizione" version.
This gives it a sporty look, with fully adjustable inverted forks and shock absorbers, beefy Brembo Stylema brake calipers, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa, and electronics galore: 3rd-generation Up&Down shifter, Cornering ABS, 4 riding modes, 8-level traction control, standing start assistant, wheelie control, 5.5" color TFT screen, Bluetooth, GPS module, geolocation system, anti-stoppie and cruise control.

80 years in the sights
Hang on a sec. What's 80 years old? Of the Agusta brand?
Well, not exactly. Count Giovanni Agusta started out by creating a company to make airplanes, in 1907. His son Domenico founded Meccanica Verghera Agusta S.p.A. on January 19, 1945, to manufacture motorcycles. The rest is history, with the small 98 cm3 moped, a strong racing presence, 37 world championship titles, riders like John Surtees, Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood, Carlo Ubbiali, Phil Read, iconic names like Tamburini and Castiglioni... and a destiny whose outcome seems elusive.
