For 2024, Michelin has renewed its range of tires for motorized two-wheelers, with references such as the Power 6, Power GP2, Power Supermoto and Anakee Road. For 2025, the manufacturer is announcing three new products for road bikes, maxi-scooters and enduro: the Road W GT, the Power Shift and the Enduro 2, each offering specific improvements.
The Michelin "Road W GT" tire: for peace of mind on the Gold Wing
Designed for the Honda Gold Wing, the Road W GT is engineered to meet the demands of this powerful motorcycle, especially its high torque of 170 Nm. This tire incorporates advanced technologies for grip and durability, including :
- Water Sipe lamination: improves water evacuation.
- Rear rubber compound: guarantees better grip on wet surfaces.
- 3-ply radial casing: ensures greater precision in dry conditions.
The Road W GT will be available in three sizes to suit the needs of the Gold Wing.
A survey conducted last June revealed that 67% of "Wingers" praise the wet grip of Michelin Road W GT tires, according to the brand.
The "Power Shift", a high-performance maxi-scooter tire
Aimed at maxi-scooters, the Power Shift will replace the Pilot Road 4 SC and Pilot Power 3 SC, targeting the growing performance of this segment. Features of this tire include:
- Radial X Evo technology: enhanced stiffness for sporty driving.
- 2CT+ big compound: variability of stiffness for greater stability, especially on wet roads.
- Water Evergrip siping and a design inspired by the Power range: optimized wet handling, with a 15% longer life.
These tires are scheduled to go on sale in 2025, although dimensions have yet to be confirmed.
Enduro 2: Michelin's choice for extreme challenges
For off-road enthusiasts, Michelin is launching the Enduro 2, available in three versions: Medium, Hard and Xtrem, to suit different enduro conditions.
Reinforced for intensive off-road use, grip and sturdiness will be put to the test this month.
At the same time, Michelin is renewing its Bib Mousse technology, a foam ring invented in the '80s to prevent punctures. The new version includes Bib Mousse Gel, for greater flexibility and reliability in extreme conditions.
Edouard de Peufeilhoux, Director of the Michelin Group's Two-Wheel Business Line:
Michelin is renewing all its tire ranges to support change and reinforce its role as leader in two-wheel mobility.
Founded in 1889, Michelin has made two-wheelers an integral part of its long-term growth strategy. Its new tires demonstrate its commitment to meeting the specific needs of each segment, whether road, scooter or off-road, always combining performance, longevity and safety.
News: tire manufacturer Michelin on the alert
Michelin and its teams are in full swing, with barely a week to produce a wide selection of tires for the forthcoming MotoGP Grand Prix in Barcelona. Meanwhile, in France, 1,254 employees received the dreaded confirmation on Tuesday, November 5: Michelin will be closing its plants in Cholet (Maine-et-Loire) and Vannes (Morbihan). This decision, which has been expected for several weeks, is justified by the French giant following a collapse in sales of truck and van tires.
