The MotoGP 2025 season officially kicks off on February 9 in Bangkok, Thailand, with expectations already high for the first races. In the weeks leading up to kick-off, manufacturers are taking advantage of the opportunity to present their teams to the media and reveal their new products. Here's an overview of the presentations and first announcements.
This article will be updated in real time as new information emerges.
MotoGP 2025: the presentations are made!
The teams' ambitions are unveiled, marking the real kick-off to the MotoGP season. Following in the footsteps of Trackhouse (January 14), we'll be following each team right up to LCR Honda, who will be waiting until the very last moment, the day before the start of the competition, to assert themselves.
Trackhouse Racing, no pressure?
The first team to open the introductions, Trackhouse Racing, managed by Davide Brivio, has measured but strategic ambitions.
Promising duo of Raul Fernandez and rookie Ai Ogura
Raul Fernandez, in his second MotoGP season with Trackhouse, will need to demonstrate greater consistency, whileAi Ogura, the 2024 Moto2 champion, will make his MotoGP debut with the team. The objectives have already been set: "For Raul, it's a question of being more consistent. For Ai, from my experience with the rookies, the first year is a learning experience. We want him to have fun and find his feet without pressure," explains Trackhouse team manager Davide Brivio, who is not setting a target in terms of numbers.
The group, in collaboration with Aprilia on the RS-GP, is keeping the suspense under wraps with an innovative concept of dynamic livery: "We're going to play with the livery throughout the season. It will be a surprise at every stage", added Brivio.
Aprilia Racing: a new era with Martín and Bezzecchi
Aprilia opens a new chapter with a highly promising duo of drivers: defending champion Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi. Lorenzo Savadori is confirmed as a test rider to support the bike's development.
Cooperating despite past tensions
The Martinator made no secret of past tensions with Bezzecchi: "It's clear that Bezzecchi hasn't been my best friend in recent years. But for the good of the team, we have to work together", declared the new number 1. However, the discord that dates back to their Moto3 days should not compromise their season: "What matters to me is that my team-mate is competitive. If he can give instructions on how to improve the bike, that will help me too. And vice versa", says Bezzecchi.
As the new season gets underway, Sporting Director Massimo Rivola is optimistic:
The RS-GP25 has enormous potential. Our aim is to be leaders, not just followers.
Jorge Martín: a symbolic number 1
Jorge Martín's choice of whether or not to wear the number 1 is a rare event, so he doesn't have to play around with it and raise expectations. Aprilia understands this...
Martín officially becomes the fifth MotoGP rider to wear it, joining an elite group that includes Stoner, Hayden, Lorenzo and Bagnaia. Valentino Rossi had never turned his back on the n46. "The number 1 symbolizes a huge responsibility, but I'm ready, " said the first independent World Champion of the modern era.
Gresini Racing: a season of transition?
At Gresini, Alex Marquez enters his third season with the team, with high expectations. The arrival of Fermin Aldeguer, a young Moto2 talent, brings a breath of fresh air.
Building for the post-Marc Márquez era
For Gresini, 2025 will be all about managing the post-Marc Marquez era. Team manager Masini stresses the difficulty of this task, but remains optimistic: "A rider of his calibre always leaves a mark. But we have devised the best possible plan for the post-Marc era," he explains.
This plan is based on a progressive approach, with the intention of taking each step at its own pace before assessing whether expectations can be adjusted based on performance. In this new dynamic, the arrival of Fermin Aldeguer from Moto2 (5ᵉ last year), brings a breath of fresh air and novelty. "We won't put any pressure on him at the start. He has to learn and understand the riding style needed in MotoGP." Although he embodies great hope and raises legitimate expectations for the future, Masini is taking a cautious approach to his integration.
For his part, Alex Marquez, now a pillar of the team following the departure of his elder, remains confident about Gresini's ability to maintain its position among the top teams: "We're a small team, but we have everything we need to be at the top. We'll do our best to get the season off to a solid start," says the 28-year-old.
Ducati Lenovo Team in search of a fourth consecutive crown
Now it's Ducati's turn to boast Marc Marquez in its ranks, "a privilege to have him in our team", according to Gigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse. After a decade with Honda and a year of transition with Gresini, the eight-time world champion begins a new chapter with the official Ducati team.
Official Ducati Team boss Davide Tardozzi shares his enthusiasm:
Marc [Marquez] wants to become even better than he already is, he wants to win his ninth title, his tenth... That's what champions are like!
Before that, Ducati had to decide between Jorge Martín and Marc Márquez, a dilemma that gave rise to much discussion behind the scenes. In the end, the choice fell on "MM93". Davide Tardozzi reflects on the decision: "The selection between Marc and Jorge was very difficult, but it was the result of careful consideration."
Bagnaia and Márquez: a healthy title rivalry?
The Spaniard approaches this new challenge with determination and humility. With his wealth of experience behind him, he knows how to make himself appreciated, praising the qualities of his new team-mate, Francesco Bagnaia: "His strength lies in his ability to negotiate fast right-hand corners, which is my weak point." Marquez "arrives in the reference garage" and has already seen some differences from his past experiences: "One of the most important things is communication, and I think that 's the biggest difference with Ducati."
Francesco Bagnaia, champion in 2022 and 2023, returns this season to his lucky number 63. Aware of the increased competition with the arrival of Márquez, he remains true to his approach: "My objective remains the same: to beat everyone and win the championship again. Marc is my team-mate, but my motivation remains intact."
With a team made up of two ultra-competitive riders and a Desmosedici GP that has dominated the premier class for the past three years, Ducati is well positioned to aim for another world crown. It remains to be seen whether the cohabitation of two champions of this stature will bear fruit or engender new rivalries within the paddock.
VR46 Racing Team, ready to play a leading role
After Gresini and the official Ducati team, VR46, the latest team to set a launch date, presented itself to the press on Saturday. Now Ducati's main satellite partner, the team takes over the role of Pramac, now associated with Yamaha. Vale's team can no longer hide, and looks set to establish itself as a major force on the MotoGP grid. All that remains is to negotiate the pressure of results that will be imposed on it.
After two years of black livery, Valentino Rossi's emblematic colors made a comeback last year, accompanying the team's rise to prominence. For this fourth season, the Italian outfit is counting on an optimized motorcycle and a Transalpine duo comprising Franco Morbidelli, a disciple of the VR46 Academy, and Fabio Di Giannantonio to return to success. DiGia, equipped with a factory bike, intends to demonstrate his full potential after a convalescence at the end of 2024. He was forced to undergo shoulder surgery following an injury sustained last August at the Austrian GP.
Valentino Rossi out of sight, close to heart
VR46's three wins in the main event and one in the sprint (thanks to Marco Bezzecchi) date back to 2023. Nevertheless, the seven-time MotoGP world champion, who was absent from the launch, has high ambitions.
In a video addressed to fans, Valentino Rossi (VR46) states:
In 2025, expectations are very high. We now have the most competitive bike on the grid. Our objective is clear: to aim for regular podiums, win races and put in a good performance in the championship.
Team principal Pablo Nieto confirmed this bold objective, underlining Ducati's full support: "With a bike identical to that of the official team, we have the means to fight for the podium at every race. Although aiming for the title remains extremely difficult, we have to compete with the best teams."
The riders are currently intensifying their preparations in Mandalika (Indonesia) before heading to Malaysia and Sepang for the official pre-season test.
Upcoming launch dates: KTM, Yamaha, Pramac and Honda
The remaining presentations promise further revelations:
- KTM Factory Racing: January 30
- Yamaha & Pramac: January 31
- Honda HRC: February 1
- LCR Honda: February 8
As the presentations continue, each team is fine-tuning the final details to be ready for Sepang (official pre-season test from February 5 to 7). Stay tuned for the latest announcements and the first returns from the track.
