Motorcycle specifications SuzukiGSX-S1000GX + 2024 SUV with big pockets

On-Off Road

Among Suzuki's road-going solutions, the GSX-S1000GX is certainly the most iconoclastic motorcycle. This crossover combines comfort, power, a wealth of techno-electronics and a face that stirs the emotions. What's more, it's a dog of a bike. But its hefty price tag, which is far from Suz' usual fare, and its equipment, which is sparser than the competition, do it a bit of a disservice.

The + version should put things right. This additional package provides all the elements it lacks to truly assume a GT vocation. Firstly, heated grips, the first element of survival when the cold asserts itself more than willpower and/or stamina. Next, the machine takes care of the posteriors with a more comfortable seat set; and also more elegant, with red stitching and the GSX-S logo embroidered on the passenger curve.

The most significant aspect of the GSX-S1000GX + is its hips. Two large panniers take up space to carry all you need for a short stay. each holds 26 liters, the equivalent of a few sweaters and sandwiches or a full-face helmet in each hold, along with a large muffin.

Some might say that all this should be standard equipment on this maxi-trail-routier-sport..... As a consolation prize, Suzuki is making an effort on the price of the Pack +. It will cost you 999 euros, i.e. 1,000 less than the initial price. In the accessories department, the panniers alone are worth almost two "violets".

The GSX-S1000GGX+ is now more road-worthy than ever. At a brisk pace, if you feel like it. With 152 horsepower, it's possible to go fast, very fast, under the supervision of a healthy dose of electronics. Do you like technology? This Suzuki's semi-active suspension, three riding modes, traction control, several power levels, anti-wheeling, anti-drift, cruise control, shifter, tilt-responsive braking, Easy Start, 6.5" color TFT screen, smartphone connectivity and USB socket are just some of the features you'll appreciate.

Face avant de la Suzuki GSX-S1000GX +

Before all that, let its GSX-R1000-flavored chassis, Brembo brakes and appetite for fast touring do the talking. The motorcycle wants to give itself more assets to convince, in the face of competition often better placed.

Spanish Luigi Model 2025
After reading about and testing several bikes, I decided to buy this Suzuki. On the plus side, there's no denying that the engine pushes hard, the electronics and suspension are top-notch, the looks are (debatable), the ergonomics and wind protection are very effective, and the mechanics are robust and proven. Price in line with the competition, lower in some cases (BMW SX1000R) and higher in others (Yamaha Tracer 9 and Kawa Versys), but less powerful. On the negative side, the brakes are limited, lacking a radial pump up front, and the Dunlop Roadsport 2 tires fitted as standard have poor grip and limit the bike considerably. The tires can be corrected, they can be changed and you spend a few bucks, the brakes are more difficult to solve, and as a last negative point, the dome that doesn't support up and down with an element that facilitates the movement and you have to find an allen key and take your time to lower or raise it...... Rating : 4/5
